It's easy to get caught up in FA madness and forget that one of our own is facing a major decision. Reports at the end of the season were that he was 50/50.

Is it time for Paul Pierce to hang 'em up?

Whatever decision he makes, here's to a legendary Celtic.

other than signing a "retire as a Celtic" contract, I'd say it's about that time.  same for KG

For a long time I've wanted one of those jerseys, but I can't find them anywhere.

But yeah, I think those two guys should probably hang it up. But if they're still having fun? Why not keep going.

I don't there there's any scenario where the Clippers keep Pierce and sign Durant.  Financially,  I think they'd have to trade away Pierce's contract in order to have enough cap space to offer Durant reasonably close to a max salary.  So if I'm Pierce, I call up KD and encourage him to sign with the Celtics.  Pierce is gonna end up back here in some capacity eventually anyways.

He is still valuable as a bench player.

I saw his first game as a Celtic, and I saw his last. Time catches us all. Time to retire, and begin a new career.

He would be crazy to pass up one more payday that is guaranteed. He is guaranteed over 7 million dollars for two more years of less than starter play. He will likely not make millions ever again unless he becomes a successful businessman or coach, neither of which is a guarantee. I know what I'd do: Take the money.

If KD signs here, and we're able to sign Pierce to a vet min, and in the waning seconds before raising banner 18 in the Garden, Pierce gets subbed in, I think I'll choke up.

He should have retired after his year with the Wizards.  It's too bad, too, because if Wall doesn't get hurt they most likely beat Atlanta and get to play the Cavs minus Love in the Eastern Conference Finals, so who knows, maybe they could have been playing the Warriors last year instead of Lebron, but we'll never know, now :-\.

Not until it no longer matters that his salary is in the way of KD going to LA.
