Horford should pick up the tab of 80% of all team dinner's. Over 28 million per year for a declining 30 year old Horford. Unreal!
Thomas Bradley Smart Brown and Crowder will make a combined 28 mil next season.

But CoachBo thinks they stink.

Danny means business apparently.

It would really suck if he declined.

Yeah, I was coming on here to write the same thing.

It has been nice knowing you cap space. It seems like we hardly knew ye.

I started another thread about this, but Al Horford is truly terrible rebounder.  His defensive rebounding rate is 144th among all NBA players:

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/sort/defReboundRate/page/3/qualified/false

Who can play alongside him to compensate?  Certainly not Sullinger or Amir.  We'd be slow as molasses.

His name rhymes with Tight Flowered.

Dude, that's bananas.  We can't play 2 centers at the same time.  We'll never stop a pick and roll, and Lebron would score 60+ on us every game.

Overpaying, but relative to what? You feel you need a guy, you have the cap space, you pull the trigger. He's a perfect fit for their system. You just hope he accepts so Ainge can go to Durant with Horford. If not, Horford makes another FA (Gasol?) easier to sign. They have openings at both the 4 and 5.

Walking into a Durant meeting with IT and Horford would be nice. Maybe Bird and Havlicek will join them. Bird? LOL.

I know with the cap expansion, we need to give money to someone but I think we will regret it if we pay this much/this long to Al Horford.

We just need a center now.

Defensively he is more of a center IMO, but you do need a big that can rebound. As another thread explains Horford doesn't rebound so we have to be very careful about that.

I have a feeling we are being used for leverage to get Atlanta to offer a fifth year.

He's always looked like a good rebounder to me.  He plays with Millsap and J Smith before that.  Those guys are/were going to grab their share of rebounds.

Let's wrap this up tonight before meeting with Durant tomorrow.

I'm sorry, but that's preposterous.  Not in our defensive scheme which demands switching on the pick and roll.  Not when he's turning 30 and getting slower.

MetroGlobe, no player is perfect. Horford has become a weaker rebounder as he has aged.

But he brings a lot to the table across the board.

"IF" we can get Al I'd be really happy and pleased.

I don't believe that the Al Horford we saw in the ATL series was the "real" Al.

Even if we don't get KD BUT sign Al, we're a better team.

I just saw a lot of sorrow and self pity among Mavs fans on Twitter earlier today so I'm steeling myself.
