If we did sign Durant and Horford to max deals, how much money would be left over for a third free agent, assuming we don't pick up options on Amir and Jerebko, and renounce our offers to Sully and Zeller while letting Turner walk?

The Juice.

Not srs. But Danny has a knack for obtaining guys that he once liked or once rumored with the Celtics.

I think it's Horford. He's the most realistic FA star we can get, and it's still possible he comes to Boston even without KD.

so I think when the first rumour or published report about who ainge called will be out there,
that guy will most likely be one of the people KD wants on the team.

2 summers ago (if I'm not mistaken) it was Isaiah. Now I think it'll be Horford or Whiteside
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Has to be Horford. Not just to get him to sign with us, but to keep him from signing with OKC. I suspect OKC's pitch to Durant is going to revolve around bringing in a guy like Horford.

Agreed.

Horford. Getting him to sign is step one to making a plausible pitch to KD.
Yeah it would be.

Sadly I don't see the sequencing working out at all unless KD/Horford talk to each other about it. I assume they would if the possibility became real.

Durant.

"Hey KD, just doing my due dilligence and giving you that 12:01 phone call.  Looking forward to sitting down with you on Saturday.  Quick question - Who should by my 12:02 phone call?   Horford, Howard or Whiteside?"

I don't know about you but i have no interest in guys like this who will command 4 years 60mil. Williams is a good player and would help but i only would want to commit long term cap to a higher level talent.

Danny Ainge calls Horford.

Brad Stevens calls Parsons.

I feel like Ainge and co. love Parsons a lot so they will at least inquire about him early on in the process.

Haha! I love that idea. Maybe you should be helping Danny with his free agency approach. TP

I've wondered what people thought about Parsons.  What if we were to add Howard and Parsons?  I don't think Parsons is the guy to make a major long term investment in, but I'm curious to what others think.  I think we'd be the second best team in the East, but not quite contenders.  We would have to hope one of our young guys breaks out.

Yeah, you need a superstar to win and signing Dwight and Parsons closes that door via FA.

Since IT, Bradley, Rozier, Smart, Crowder, Parsons and at this point Howard all lack that superstar potential you are really really banking on that '17 Nets pick to net you a superstar and if were being really really  generous you could included Jaylen Brown in that potential superstar category.
