I don't believe Rondo will play solid defense for a team that obviously got no chance at the playoffs.
If he choose Nets, it's for the money only.

I don't think that makes them good or anything but better than what they had and could entice so-so players. I want them to be the complete bottom of the league.

I like Rondo, I'm just not sure his opinion of his ability matches the reality. Also, he didn't do himself any favors on the way out of town.

That's definitely been his MO for a while now. I think all Celtics fans should feel OK about a Nets team starring Brooke Lopez and Rajon Rondo.

I think he wants to go anywhere he can start and get paid at this point. Not a big market for his services, certainly not the max deal he thought he'd secured after his 2012 playoffs.

If he ends up going to the Nets he's really going to lose it.

He just basically said he was done with Sacamento because they didn't play hard and didn't care. Only going to get worse in Brooklyn. No chance Lopez stays healthy for another year.

Makes a lot of sense.

How much cap space do they have?  50+ mil?

Maybe they'll sign someone else.  There's no reason for them not to offer max contracts to guys like Barnes.  They don't have any picks so they might as well try to be as competitive as possible.  And they could try to sign a guy like Brandon Bass to add some role players on that roster.
