Sac shopped the #8 pick yesterday and they made a trade. #13 and #28 and rights to Bogdanovic. So you are telling me DA couldn't offer #16,#23,#31 for #8????  Chriss is as good as Brown in terms of potential in my opinion.

So if DA accepted the offer from PHI we could have used the #24 and #26 to select the same guys we did. But even without the trade with PHI still why didn't try to get #8?? Zizic+Yabusele > Chriss ???? I don't think so.

Any source saying that Danny DIDN'T try to make that trade and get turned down?  Or that Yabusele and Zizic would have been available later?

We don't know enough about what happened behind the scenes (or what would have happened if the night had gone differently) to say anything.  Speculation is fine, but using it as a basis for criticizing Ainge is useless

If he tried he would have succeeded. Phoenix offed them #13,#28 and rights to Bogdanovic

DA could have offered #16,#23,#31
Maybe, maybe not. #16 is not #13.

Team A has #13 and wants to move up three spots.

They offer team B #23, #31 and also ask for #28 from team B.

What makes you think this is an instant trade?

By all indications Divac did this trade because he was super super high on Papagiannis. Maybe he had intel that he would have been available at 13 but not at 16.

 Lol at Vlade having "intel"

Exactly.  Sacramento is a bit weird, but if they thought Papa John wouldn't be available at #16, then they wouldn't take it #16 over #13.

Maybe he valued  Bogdanovic.  I would have considered trading a first for him, so would treat his value as equal to one of those picks.

Also, I think Bog Bog is going to be a stud.  Sacramento may think that as well.

it's impossible for Danny to be in contact with every GM in the league at all times...Other teams make deals between each other, without first consulting with Ainge.

To me, this is only the valid criticism you can have of Ainge from last night.

We will see how good his picks become.  We will find out if there was a sensible deal that was legit and he turned it down.  To me, fans who are upset about the picks or the non-trades are just crying for the sake of crying.

But what we know is true is that teams were trading picks last night, and you can make the argument that he could have packaged #16 and #23 and maybe a future 1st to move up.

What if they had included someone like Rozier in their package.   The Kings will probably need a PG now that Rondo is likely bailing.

I agree, the #8 seemed gettable.

There was a chance Brown woulda been there at 8. We could drafted Dunn at 3 and Brown at 8. All speculation but it's not far fetched.

Would the Kings have taken 12 for 8, or even 12 and 21 for it?

True but it seems to me they value #13 more than #16. To me it may seem they feel their guy wouldnt be there at 16. I mean I wanted Valentine, if we had #13 we couldve gotten him, no. 16 no way.

Last time I checked, #13 was better than #16. Bogdanovic is also worth more than #31. So why exactly would have Danny succeeded with that offer?
