One thing bother me all day: Why DA didn't try to get the #8 from Sac?

Sac shopped the #8 pick yesterday and they made a trade. #13 and #28 and rights to Bogdanovic. So you are telling me DA couldn't offer #16,#23,#31 for #8?  Chriss is as good as Brown in terms of potential in my opinion.

So if DA accepted the offer from PHI we could have used the #24 and #26 to select the same guys we did. But even without the trade with PHI still why didn't try to get #8?? Zizic+Yabusele > Chriss ? I don't think so.

Agreed on this. I feel like I'm a lot more positive on this draft than the general consensus, but this bothered me.

If the only guys we ended up with were Brown and Chriss I would ten times more excited about this draft.

Yep. I would be perfectly happy if we ended up with Brown AND Chriss. That sets up a ridiculous forward pairing of the future.

I wouldn't have even minded not doing the Noel trade, either, though a Noel/Chriss frontcourt would be super intriguing.

No. My point is that DA could have easily made better offer than the one Sac got from Pho, because of all the draft picks we had

Maybe. But Chriss fits the BS system perfectly. For example Zizic realy good player  i watch him a lot, quality player already but not a good fit in this system. Chriss would be perfect under Brad in my opinion

By all indications Divac did this trade because he was super super high on Papagiannis. Maybe he had intel that he would have been available at 13 but not at 16.

I like chriss but like many have said, his lack of defensive rebounding or lack of desparation to grab every one was worrisome.  This is how chriss doesnt fit into cbs system

Zizic on the other hand is a monster rebounder , max effort. And this is how he fits into cbs system

If you cant do the basics down to the T, you cant get min to prove your skills....

My point is that you don't know that he didn't.  An offer based around #16 wasn't a guarantee to be accepted (and may have been offered and turned down), especially if the Kings weren't sure their guy would be there at #16

All of this is just speculation.  There's literally no evidence that Danny DIDN'T try to make this deal.  Criticizing him for not making that offer when, for all we know, he may have, is just asinine.

I think that Yabusele would clearly fit "the system" as well, though.  A bit shorter, but also athletic as heck, also a shooter, not as poor a rebounder, might end up being an overall better player and fit.
