Not even close. In Brown we finally have an elite athlete with great size for his ppsition.

We still don't have any one good at basketball. Ainge hates talent.

That's the only way I can rationalize brown over dunn... Dunn has everything brown has plus he's good at basketball.

Welcome to Boston Jaylen.

Didn't realise he was so young.

Liked his meek and erudite brief interview after getting drafted too. Very Aingey. Just hope he has maddog fire in him.

Danny places too much value into character. Jaylen is the more well spoken kid who wants to go to Harvard and MIT while in Boston. Dunn is the kinda aloof, fun to be around guy who is still uber serious during games. Danny likes the nerd more I guess.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Brown is going to be our Justice Winslow.  He'll struggle on offense as a rookie, but he'll be an immediate, top-15% wing defender almost immediately.  He's got the potential to be a lot more than that as he develops.
Roy that's the way I see it.  I think he has a chance to be a real difference maker for the team, but time of course will tell.  Seems like a real sharp guy who has a pretty good idea of what's ahead of him in terms of working to develop his game..  I'm really looking forward to seeing him in a C's uniform.

Completely agree. I think in all professions people tend to enjoy mentoring newcomers that have certain qualities, often similar to their own. But this is the NBA... star player driven. It'd suit the team better for Ainge to take this more subjective approach with  later picks with ceilings of role players, not high picks to build around.

Well he has to go to all star games for the Celts or be the 3rd best player in this draft or quickly get traded for an all star. If that stuff doesn't happen he's a bust.

You should embarrassed by this post.

Not liking the pick is one thing, but this post is absurd and takes away any credibility you might have had..

Absolutely horrid post.

Makes Celtics fans look dumb.
This is simple math. You pick the 3rd pick to get the 3rd best player. You don't pick it to get the 4th best player.

Why all the apologism tonight? I really don't get it.

So who do you think was the third best player Dunn right.
I've been saying it's a two player draft. I'm not saying Jaylen is or isn't the 3rd best player. I hope he is. But essentially if he turns out not to be he'll be a bust. That's why you draft 3rd....to get the 3rd best player.

What if he turns out to be the fourth best player?

Does anyone else think the small-ball lineup of Smart-Crowder-Brown-Yabasule is awesomely beefy and quick-footed?

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Love, love, love the Brown pick.  The C's need a star.  Of the players available, Brown has the best chance of becoming a star.  Dude has skills you cannot teach.  And he's a good kid.

Nah, he doesn't have the skills that you can teach ;) ;D.

Jaylen Brown has plenty of talent.  Go back to last year, and I'm sure there are people hoping for Jaylen Brown.  Depending on your recruiting site of preference, he was ranked the 3rd or 4th best high school player.  He's got a huge ceiling.  He's a role player next year.  Long run, he has multi-year all-star potential.  This was a swing for the fences pick.  Time will tell, but I think this will be a home run.
