Taking Dunn and having some team try to rip us off and being stuck with a player we didnt want is no good.  We have Isaiah and Marcus.  Philly offering us Noel, Covington plus 2 late firsts when we have 8 picks as it is isn't what we needed.

Jimmy is not a ripoff
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Horsecrap. Danny was doing his usual bogus trade offers and thinking he needed to assblast someone by winning a lopsided deal, and that's why no deal got done. Classic Ainge..

You eventually have to give up some value to get value back..
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Seems like I hear that a lot from you, Wyc. Maybe the problem isn't the other 29 teams...

I wouldnt have done any of the deals i heard rumored.  If we could have gotten Butler sure.  Philly trying to dump crap on us isnt what i wanted.

Seems that the team keeps getting better every year. Maybe it's not a problem.

I also wouldnt have done Brown for Okafor straight up.  For the reasons I stated.  I think brown is a better player. for Okafor and Saric maybe.

definately not for noel, covington and 2 late firsts

Exactly how I feel

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

Why not take the deal, draft and stash 3 young foreign bigs and one young foreign shooter.  Noel is a way better player than Brown ever will be and you have 4 chances of hitting on young guys without taking a spot.  Get rid of Young or Hunter, neither of whom are any good.  The team needs STARS to go along with the slew of role players.  This move flat out SUCKS.

Wyc sounded defensive, as if he knew this would be an unpopular pick.

You can't really argue with this logic.

So the Philly deal didn't sound like a rip off to you? Sounded like one to me. Offering late picks and a guy we could just sign next summer? You don't give up the third pick for that unless you're Billy King.

I think what happened was the Bulls were not interested in what the Celtics had to offer until the Thad Young trade happened. That trade on paper makes the Nets worse than they already are, and considering next years class is going to be loaded, the Bulls all the sudden thought, "Hey, maybe we can get both Kris Dunn and a high lottery pick next year!" They wanted Danny to overpay for Butler or no deal.

It was an underpayment for the #3 from Philly, an overpayment for Butler, or just select the guy that we wanted all along. You can't always get what you want.

Because we can already do that with the picks we already have.

As for Noel being better than Brown, we'll see.

Truthfully, I'm quite relieved we didn't try to acquire Jimmy Butler. That would have been a disaster.
