how the hell did phoenix get chriss and bender?   ainge has no balls.  zero pressure from anybody to  take a risk.

Presumably because Sacramento felt that 13 and 28 was better than 16 and 23.

Phoenix got those two picks by trading Markieff Morris and IT, respectively.  I don't think they came out ahead when all is said and done.

Horrible draft, horrible asset management. A glut of draft and stashes that will never amount to anything.

He's clearly burnt bridges with a lot of GM's considering the joke offers he's getting. He's never been a good drafter and from the appearance of today this wont change. The one saving grace is that he got a high upside guy with our top pick and didn't pick bender.

Such a great opportunity wasted. Another year of hoping brooklyn will be awful. Sigh.

Danny Ainge has had his position in Boston for 14 years.  Could you kindly give us a list of all the All Star players he's drafted during that time?

Al Jefferson - All-NBA
Rajon Rondo - 4x All Star, All-NBA and All-Defensive Team
Tony Allen - All-Defensive Team
Avery Bradley - All-Defensive Team

Can I also asked when was the last time Danny have drafted in the top 10 lottery prior to 2014?

Danny is not going to get fired. Wyc and company need to have a pow-wow and start questioning Danny's wild shot drafting strategies that defy common logic.

I still can't get over using the 16th pick to select a second round player. It's beyond absurd. They were sleeping in the Celtic War Room.

According to a recent Globe article Danny is open to listening to everyone's opinion and doesn't hold them back in what they say. My feeling is these scouts need to be a lot more vocal in opposition to certain players. Otherwise, Danny will keep running off on a tangent.

So the answer to my question was 1.

Thanks for the answer.  No thanks for the attempt at obfuscation.  Be better than that.

Too many people on this board believe its easy to just go off mocks and then take what looks good... whats the success rate of nba draft picks 10%? c'mon there are no sure things in the draft... Ainge has drafted better than 90% of the other gms in the league..  really how many bad picks did he make over the years?

Fab Melo
Jujuan johnson
Marcus Banks
James Young (still up for debate)

Since you can get all-star players while picking outside of the top 10 (about 6 or 7 players on this year's all star teams fit that list, for example), your question isn't particularly relevant to what I asked, but Ainge has had 4 chances to draft in the top 10.

Trade #5 for Ray Allen (Great move)
Trade #7 (as Randy Foye) for Sebastian Telfair (Freakin' disaster)
Drafted Marcus Smart (Jury out)
Drafted Jaylen Brown (jury out)

That spot doesn't really matter, anyway as Danny drafted Rondo using the PHX's #21 in the same night. He got a gamble with the Telfair trade and hit the jackpot with the Rondo draft.

And that draft class is particularly thin in superstar talent. Rondo, Lowry and Millsap were drafted in late 1st round-2nd round

Hey, we are at least three or four years of failed fireworks away before this is a real discussion.

Sorry but Anige is here to stay. I'm sure he has plan B's and C's if Plan A doesn't succeed.

Plan A crapped out years ago.  They're already considerably further down the alphabet.

And how do you know that?

Of course it matters.
