Indiana is gonna be fun next year.

Danny could have done better if he wanted.
Young would take cap space, Maybe Danny has that reserved for a couple of FA's

"...aaand now there's a steal by Bird"
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Maybe. But this was a great offer nonetheless.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Three thoughts -

1) I really, really like what Indy is doing. That's an excellent pickup for #20. I would've really liked Young for that cheap, but it's better to keep our options and space open for this summer.

2) Brooklyn is now the worst team in the league by a pretty wide margin.

3) How about these picks not having value? That's two starting caliber players that Indy has essentially got for a late lottery pick and a later first rounder. Hell, we might be able to get Noel with #16 and some change now.

Wow. That's a hard one. I thought Ainge wanted to unload #16.
i am assuming ainge thinks he can get better talent than young. if so, great.

but best of all is that the nets may be very, very bad next season. life is good.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Love what Indiana is doing. Their starting lineup is loaded with quickness and athleticism now. Strong foundation to build around on both ends of the floor. Defensive quickness & versatility. Multiple ball-handlers, slashers, good shooting. Exciting nucleus.

2nd best team in the East.

Yup. If Jeff Teague is worth #12, why would Noel cost any more?

Bird is making moves. We had better get it going quick, or else we get left in the dust.

Just put $6 on Indy at 125/1 odds to win the title

Because

(1) Noel is a restricted free agent so team acquiring him has much more control over keeping him next summer than they do an unrestricted free agent like Teague

(2) Noel is 7 feet tall

(3) Noel is younger

If I'm not mistaken, they should still have enough cap space to offer a FA money in the ~ $19-24 mil range

It's hard to get too mad about BKN getting squat for Thad, but I would have paid #16 in a heartbeat. Guess maybe they don't like trading with us any more.

If we'd offered 16 hey would have taken it. Which suggests we didn't offer it. I'd say that's the right decision. Danny won't commit to salary unless it changes the game at this point. No rush to do anything
