I have been thinking about Marc Gasol for a while now. I have no idea in what state Memphis is, but they are not progressing and must be afraid to lose Conley. Actually i do think Conley is going to leave. It's one name we haven't heard in any Rumors, usually something happens which we haven't heard in rumors before.

Gasol should be dealt then to start the Rebuild, good way to start with #3 and a future pick and one of our starters?
Or would that be too much of a gamble because of his recent injuries.

He should be in his prime for another 3-5 years and could and should still be the ideal rim protector and DPOY candidate behind our terrorising guard defense.

Thoughts!? :) #3 + #16 + MEM pick '19 + Olynyk? They probably want a BKN pick.

O'really, smartass

That is an overpay. If thats the going rate for Gasol I will pass.

Actually I thought youd included a second Brooklyn pick. Either way its a move that needs to be done in concert with another one. Bringing in Gasol is starting a timer on our window.

That's hilarious lol TP.

I agree, though that it's an overpay.

LOL, well played.

I too have been thinking about a Marc Gasol trade for the very reasons you mentioned.  I'd do that trade.

Bring back Jerebko and Amir.  Let Sullinger, Turner, and Zeller walk.  (Sullinger will get overpaid, Zeller fine at low money, but he's just not worth much as a 3rd center, and turner I'm ok with at low money but I think he'll get overpaid too)

IT/Smart/Rozier
Bradley/Hunter (with some Smart)
Crowder/Valentine (16) (or Taurean Prince at 23/31)
Jerekbo/Olynyk
Marc Gasol/Amir

We've got some holes to fill for sure, but still both of the future Brooklyn picks and tons of cap space.  Perhaps a trade for a Milsap or Ibaka.  Eh that kind of puts us in very much psuedo-contender status and I'm talking myself out of this now.  Although could IT4 + 2017 Brooklyn pick next season land us CP3 at next season's trade deadline if LAC isn't happy with their outlook?  Cuz then we're in business.

I'm in on Gasol. One thing important to remember is he is signed through to the 2019 offseason with a player option for the following year. So you have an all star calibre player locked up for cheap past the silly years of inflated contracts. This would give us additional flexibility when chasing stars.

I'd deal one of the 3 pick and Mem pick but not both

Danny would do something aggressive only if he heard "IT" through the grapevine that KD would come if we got M Gasol.

Ha ha.

I'd love to see M Gasol in green, no idea what he would cost.

I think more likely Ainge gets us our center in free agency (Whiteside, Biyombo, Mahinmi, Howard), and trades for Z-Bo, continuing to pursue an wing upgrade/star with our other draft assets.

Amir + 2017 Minn 2nd for Z-Bo?

Gasol is a walking injury, is too old, is being paid too much, and doesn't rebound.

I would rather get Okafor and i REALLY don't want Okafor unless its a package deal with Noel or a pick

Yup.

I have zero interest in Marc Gasol for the above reasons.
