...we drafted (and kept) Dunn.  I don't have a problem with the player, and as I have always said, you draft the best one available every time.  Drafting Dunn would definitely signal that DA thinks he is the best player.

agree... since this draft has no immediate impact players (outside Simmons)... If they keep the pick draft on most upside.. Bender or Brown

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Kris Dunn has the potential to be a franchise player.
A two way impact player that defends any PG or SG and gets to the hole and line like D Wade.
We'd just have to move Bradley or Smart if we get him IMO.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I don't think that's happening. I think Ainge is going to get something done with Colangelo.

I personally don't see how Dunn is good enough to take over some other guys, especially with fit.  I'm almost always really a BPA guy I just don't see Dunn that way over the others to justify it.

lets trade our reject for their reject.  If we like Dunn the most, trade Smart for Noel.

I would be disappointed tonight if we

1. Trade for Noel or Okafor with our 3rd pick and received other parts like unknown draft picks in the future. We already played that game of where will the pick fall and we got lucky with a top 3...How about we use it and pick our own potential superstar with higher ceiling than Noel or Okafor and does not knock people out on the streets?
2. Pick Dunn..I dont care how great he will be. There a comes a time when we need to stop drafting guards and players who are not great shooters. If Danny believes he is the best and picks him, great, time to unload one of our guards for something with more value. Perhaps that is how we end up with Noel
3. If we use the pick and don't take Bender..I know..unproven player who played almost zero minutes in an Israeli league. From what I read about that team, they don't play players with little experience and they were in win now mode..not the best place for an 17 year old who wants playing time. Imagine a team with Doc Rivers coaching and than having a 17 year old on a roster filled with older players. How much time do you think Doc would give that player?

In my eyes, and from what i have read and seen about this kid, he has the right makeup to be a potential game changer in the sport. He works hard, is not afraid of contact, is a great passer and is still an unsculpted piece of clay waiting for the magic of Danny and Stevens...My hope is that they saw something over the past few years in him that will lead to them picking him.

In a way, us picking Bender this year would be like Knicks picking Porzingis. Remember the outcry of the Knicks fans last year when that happened...boos were unleashed...what a bad pick..blah blah blah

It will be fun to read the hundreds of pages of posts about how Danny blew it with Bender and than watch Bender develop into a superstar for many years to come. If he has shown Danny and their scouts he is the "one" than I hope we take him without reservation.

4. If we draft another player who cant shoot and cant be relied on in any manner the last 5 minutes of the game. I am sick of choosing players who have almost zero chance of ever becoming a good shooter..i dont care if there defense is amazing..great....who is going to shoot at the end of the games..it needs to be more than a player under 6 feet tall...that much I know for sure.

If we don't get Noel or some other good trade for the #3.

Bender.  However, liker others have said, Celts front office knows more than we do, so I'll get over it

If ainge trades the pick / trades down and the Celts get role players, instead of taking a risk by selecting a raw but high upside prospect.

Im down with drafting Dunn and building around youth instead of engaging in the Sysyphean task of trying to win the East without a superstar.

That said, if Ainge drafts Dunn I'm pretty sure that's a sign of a trade, either imminent or coming later this summer.

Dunn will be the pick. Ainge can't resist a trade chip.

Lol - I cant share the same view on Smart as you do.. I can't see a guy who effects us winning the way he has for 2 years as a Reject..  That guy is special sir, he just hasn't found his outside shot consistently yet (like a lot of other young players in their first 2 years)

I'd be disappointed if we ended up trading the pick for Noel.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about
