I like noel, but not for #3. We could just sign him to an offer sheet next year giving up nothing.

I'm with you on this, which is what Ainge is probably thinking too.

That said, how many of the following do you need to do it:

1st rd picks

2017 Philly
2018 Philly
2019 Philly
2017 LAL (top 3 protected in 16-17, unprotected in 17-18)
2019 Sac (unprotected)

Players
Saric
Covington

So, we finally get a top 3 pick that we have been clamoring for and we are going to trade it for Noel and change and perhaps an unknown pick number in the future that we will Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and moan about it not being top 3 and worthless again. I cant wait...Call me underwhelmed if Noel is coming to Boston when he is a free agent in one year. Ugh....I just lost my appetite for lunch now....We can absolutely get a better player with that 3rd pick..

I hope Danny has his I am going to pull a Nets trade Hat on today and doesn't settle for anything less than highway robbery in favor of the Celtics  :police:

This is getting ridiculous

76ers: We will give you Noel

Danny says No

*Less than 7 hours away

76ers: We are serious... we already told dunns camp... we offer Noel

Danny: I dont care , No

I mean show me the money 76ers!

Like someone has said already, give us okafor and saric.

Danny seems to be doing an excellent job of making sure everyone knows (or thinks) there's no way to get Dunn except through us.  We'll see if it pans out, but he's really working to leverage the emergence of a strong #3 preference in a 2 player draft.

With Jokic & Nurkic, they definitely say no

Give me Covington or the 18 Lakers pick and I'm in.

it better be with another first rounder and saric coming back cause noel is hot garbage and doesn't do crap for the celtics.

Other than him making us the best defensive team in the league, I agree with you.  ;)

I'll be pretty bummed if this ends up like the 2013 draft where I desperately want to see Boston trade Rondo for Noel - only to see philly grab him AND a future 1st for jrue holiday.   It's going to annoy me a bit if we take another guard and the Suns trade the 4th pick for OKafor or Noel.

I really am not a fan of Noel.  I don't see potential for him on offense at all.  It'd be grabbing the "rim protector" that won't actually make this team much better.

Noel is actually a younger and better version of DeAndre Jordan. Not much for offense but with space and pace, he's the perfect 5 and most importantly DEFENSIVE anchor in our system.

Better than DeAndre Jordan?  ::)

Yes, DeAndre didn't do much his first few years but after 2012 (after Danny wanted him in exchange for Doc Rivers) he got more playing time and blossomed...I think Danny sees that in Noel.

Compare their stats by age and he's clearly a better all-around player than DJ, and I love DJ.

So maybe Danny has been holding out for Noel after all. Philly also has Embiid and Okafor--they can afford to give up any one of those 3 for Dunn. Picking Dunn makes sense to me more from this standpoint, rather than keeping him.

The other thing is the guys now running the Sixers are former associates of Danny in Phoenix. That helps.

Thank you Jpotter33 for the assist....and like I mentioned before Danny LOVED DeAndre back in 2011. I think Danny views Noel (hometown Revere) as a part of a BIG 3.

Plus, it opens the door for Danny to pursue his beloved Love again. Noel would cover up Love's defensive ills at the rim.

I can definitely see this happening.
