Just give him Turner's minutes as ballhandler. Dunn has a bigger wingspan and is a better defender. Only reason we wouldn't have room to play him, is if we resign Turner or must give more minutes to Rozier.

So we are ditching one of our better 6'7" players and giving his minutes to an unproven 6'3" rookie.

No thank you

Exactly what I was thinking.
But we can keep Turner and draft Dunn.

No, we can't keep Turner.  Danny will not pay someone who can't shoot threes. Bottom line, end of discussion.

Great can't wait to see Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing Stevens never play him so we can get into playoffs and lose to Charlotte.

Wow....

I honestly can't believe how shortsighted some of you guys are being.

Many posters here act like we have Bradley and IT locked up for the next 5 years.  We don't.

Do you guys actually think we are going to resign IT when his contract is up? HAHAHAHAHA.... NO way does Danny resign IT at 20 mil a year, NO WAY.

We need PG depth.  We currently have ONE POINT GUARD.  Ya'll think Rozier is ready to play 15-20 minutes a night? Not even close to ready.

We need to think for the future..... in 2 years, IT and Bradley are GONE, and there is an incredibly slim chance that Danny will pay to extend them. (Actually, zero chance he pays for IT, slim one he pays for Bradley, really slim)

I actually want to see Rozier get that. I think after what he did in the playoffs and assuming he works hard this off season. I think he should get a shot at it.

Dunn just called the best player in the draft by David Aldridge on NBATv Mock Draft.

Given that the Celtics aren't competing for a title next season, and probably won't even make the ECF, I don't see why developing a highly talented rookie over the course of the season would be a bad thing - unless he really struggles and proves that he isn't ready for NBA minutes.  In time he may be a better player than Turner.

+1 good point. Point is Thomas is our best point, and he's not a real point. Plus Thomas will be 30 years old soon, many expect him to decline quickly at that point.

Turner is a bench player who will want $10M+/year to return. Dunn is much more valuable. They have the same wingspan, and Dunn is probably a better defender, passer and shooter right now, and will be under rookie contract control for 4 years.

He's right.  When's the last time Brad played a PG taken in the lottery big minutes in their rookie season?

We have never had one that's earned it.

It comes down to what direction we are heading.  If we are fighting for playoff spots rookies will not get time.  If we are rebuilding then trade IT, Crowder, and Bradley and rebuild.

It's going to be Brown

Danny is not going to draft a guy who has not provided medical reports and also has not worked out after several requests

celtics organization is bigger than any one player

Yes we have.  Smart earned (and got!) time two years ago

So stupid!  We don't need another 6'4" guard that can't shoot.  Trade the pick for one of the Philly bigs and whatever else we can get.  Both of those guys are better then any big we have.

Did we fight for the playoffs in 2014, when Smart got plenty of minutes?
