I'll believe it when I see it.  Danny's word means nothing.

Curious: how would you feel if Dunn was indeed the pick?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Doesn't he somewhat look like  John Wall? I'm warming up to this pick

Just got a bleacherreport notification

I don't think that Bleacher Report is credible.

It was a report from some ESPN guy.

It said Dunn is the favorite. It's not set in stone yet.

Goodman, meanwhile, has said its still between Dunn and Brown.

The mentality here amazes me. People hate on BR yet they're a legit site.  Andy Katz has only been working at ESPN  for over 16 years. You know, other people can have info other than Woj!

Andy Katz is very credible.  He broke the Sebastian Telfair trade right before the 2006 draft.  I remember like yesterday, such a miserable draft night.

Good. Standing pat and taking BPA, who also can play right away. Yes, we have a lot of guards, but there is no reason he can't play the Evan Turner role with his length and playmaking.

Obviously sets us up to deal Smart, Bradley and/or Rozier as well.

A non-sexy outcome would be to draft Dunn, use Rozier to move around in the 1st round, and give all of Turner + Rozier's minutes to Dunn.

IT / Dunn
Bradley / Smart
Crowder / Dunn

Basically Dunn is the backup PG, but can also play a point SF in smaller lineups esp. with Smart and Bradley who can credibly guard 3s.

Allows for 30mpg+ for all those guys, especially if Crowder occasionally plays the 4.

Suppose we manage to snag Poeltl and Sabonis with some combo of Rozier & our picks.

IT / Dunn
Bradley / Smart / Hunter
Crowder / Dunn
Jerebko / Sabonis / Mickey
Amir / KO / Poeltl

Not a bad lineup prior to any free agent or bigger moves.

It's not like Rozier can't grow from another year in the DL. Plus between Avery, Marcus, and Dunn's injury issues this gives us decent depth. Marcus can probably play some three if needs be.

So does that mean IT4 will be dealt?

IT and Crowder seem untouchable.

Smart and Rozier should worry Id imagine. tho I love both guys. Realistically the one most likely to be moved is Kris Dunn.

He's freaky explosive, long, covers a lot of ground both ways.  Would be a great pick, whether as trade bait or keeping him.  Don't want Kedrick Brown or Darko Bender!

I don't know why, but I've had a feeling the last few days that we take Dunn despite our plethora of guards, and despite having drafted a point guard for two and now three years straight (if we take him).

I just think that if you have a chance at the next John Wall, you take him regardless of how many guards you already have.

I doubt Isaiah wants to come off the bench, but he would be amazing as a back up PG.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
At least some of us appear to be getting our way...

Still, I'll believe Dunn as a member of the Cs on opening night when I see it.

I'd love it, but just because Danny takes him (if he does) doesn't mean that he'll keep him, and he probably won't :'(. It would be really cool to see a guy from New England on the Celtics, though :).
