well at least Dunn is considered a lock at #3
Does that mean we're trading it no matter what?
No. If there's no trade available, I think that means Evan Turner will not be a Celtic next year. There are a lot of available minutes for Dunn if he's NBA-ready.
Behind Thomas on a win-now team? I'm not so sure about that. I'd much rather take Hield who doesn't need to usurp our already-top-notch back court rotation. He'd compliment what we are doing and become that added scoring threat & floor spacer alongside IT that we so desperately need.
drafting a PG that isn't the sure fire #1 prospect in the draft really scares me. I could care less about what he did in college --- considering the number of elite PG's in the L right now --- I just don't see the ceiling that everyone else is imagining for him. I have a feeling he'll struggle against pros for a few years.
Yeah, I'm with you. Granted, I'm not all that high on Dunn, but legitimately having IT, Smart, Bradley, and Dunn just won't work, let alone Rozier who also deserves backup minutes. We're already seeing the effects of Smart's limited development due to Turner's presence with ball-handling, so I'm definitely not keen on keeping Dunn without some sort of other trade.
Perhaps if we would keep Dunn Danny would know that we're shipping someone like Bradley off for a vet like Love or Butler.
You forgot Rozier, who we spent a 1st on last year bypassing some one like a Hollis-Jefferson who would have certainly fit a need at SF and may have seen some playing time which Rozier really didn't.
Yeah, I just don't think that we can afford to have both him and Smart around (let alone IT, Bradley, and Rozier) when we can't even let Smart fully develop and run the show. You're going to sacrifice one for the other, if not both of them.
