One of my goals on the year was to be more optimistic about our team and its future prospects. And for the most part, I've succeeded.

Nevertheless, the past few weeks have been somewhat depressing, at least as it pertains to the draft. We got the #3 pick in a 2-player draft. Nobody wants what we're offering (at the value we're asking). We have eight draft picks and no place to put them all. The only thing we can get for #3 is Okafor. Etc.

Thus, I propose the 'All-purpose "pessimism"/whine about the draft/"Nobody will trade with us" thread.' Whenever you're feeling pessimistic, need a place to vent or just want to mope about the potential Thursday night outcome, come here and post.

Then, after you've blown off steam and let it all out, you can return to the rest of the forum, feeling reinvigorated.

Ugh. Great, we've got #3 in a draft where the drop-off from 2 to 3 is far greater than from 3 to 8. Every team from 3 to 8 is trying to trade their pick, driving down the value of the group as a whole. All the other GMs know that Danny has to trade at least a few picks, which further drives down demand. Seriously, the demand for Terry Rozier as an add-on to a trade is just not there. Looks like another year of all talk, no action.

Yeah, nothing significant will happen. I'd prefer to keep Dunn and move our current guards than trade for one of Phillys' bigs. At least Dunn has 2 way potential.

I am now thinking about that PhoSita thread of doing just that. If the C's draft Dunn and keep him IT becomes expendable. With him being 27 our biggest asset at recruiting big time FA tends to go out the window. Might see Ainge just draft Dunn to wait to see what he could get for him on the market and with what a guy like Durant ultimately does.

We will draft eight undersized guards, none of them being stashable in Europe. The Red Claws will win the D League.

No matter who we draft, no matter who we trade, we'll have to listen to incessant whining from Trilboy, LarBrd and Coach Bo about how Danny should have done something else.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Well, maybe more like 6 undersized "combo" guards who can't dribble or shoot well, and a couple of undersized "bigs."

We should definitely draft Dunn, he is easily the most coveted player outside of Ingram and Simmons and can be used as trade bate later if needed.

I think the C's need to go for best player available at #3 and not player that fills the biggest hole. We can address those concerns in FA as we will have a ton of money to spend.

DA is doing his homework He Rocks. No one wants to lose to him. But he will get it done.

Draft Dunn make Trade after Draft. Move up and get a big too. Dunn Can come of bench in Year 1.
