NOPE.  He'll flub it up and we'll be left with a glut of draft and stash players that won't amount to anything.  We're stuck in Mediocrity for 3-4 more years

Too bad the GM set you up with assets going forward as well. This draft or offseason isn't the tell-all by any means.

So your take is complete bunk. You're not paying attention.

I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath and chill. There are so many different threads discussing a millions of options the Cs have.

Danny will do whatever he can to get the best outcome for the Cs come draft night. He is the GM for a reason.

I trust him, and i'll be happy unless he does something very un-Ainge like and wastes all our picks and over pays for an average talent like Monroe!

I'm no fan of Monroe, but I ultimately think you're setup to overpay. You can afford it based on the assets he's accumulated.  So throw the chips out there & land the player that fits what you're doing. If it's Okafor, Noel, or Middleton, so be it.

You have to trust the man. He's darn good at his job.

I disagree.  With the best pick of not only his tenure but also in nearly 20 years, this is a watershed moment for Ainge, imo, and it's imperative that he gets it right.

Short Answer: No

Danny has made many good moves and draft choices, but his bad moves have been devastating and cost us at lease one title (2011).

Please don't trade our core players who have great chemistry and who love being Celtics like Bradley, Crowder, Turner, Jerebko and most of all, Isaiah Thomas.

Be patient- rebuild the right way and this franchise will be a contender for a decade. Aim too high, too fast and we ruin the assets we have worked so hard to acquire.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

The first pick will WOW the Celtic fans...

The next pick will have us screaming for his head!!

It'll go back and forth like that with all 8 picks.

That's how we roll ;)

Rak

Just hopefully not in the Marcus Smart workout 'wow, that was bad' way ;D.

I'm sure you also didn't trust him last time he had a top 5 pick. You know, when he landed Ray Allen & thru a championship team down your throat.

What were you claiming then ? "Ray Allen ? You mean that old dude with bad ankles that will fail soon"

I agree. Because your darn good GM set you up like gold for 2017 & 2018. The 2017 free agent & draft class is far better than this year. He can be patient if needed.

The jabroni fans like some on this board will hate it, and are not patient, but who cares.

He's not a good drafter. Landed KG (and Ray) via McHale. Hit on Rondo and Perk, but with our big 3, several players could've equally contributed.

He has made several incremental improvements via trade. I'm just assuming a letdown -- trading #3 for Okafor or Noel. The rest of the picks will be insignificant, again, and we will have a very similar season to last year.

I would prefer to draft Dunn (or Brown, if he wowed in workouts and interviews) and build towards the future, given that we won't be contending for the next decade... but whatever.

In reality this team has been waiting for a rebuild since 2011 where we retooled and got very lucky to make East Finals. The majority of people here are extremely invested in the team so it has been a long 5 years of promises and hope, if we completely sucked I think it would be easier to take because knowing is better then the unknown. Also it's my personal belief that the ownership group keep making these crazy statements about landing a big star to keep the Garden full just like Bulls owners kept the extent of Rose's injuries secret from the fans for fear of losing money.

If I was Ainge i would either draft Hield if he wants to keep going as is or draft Dunn and if he is truely is as good as reported, deal I.T and build slowly with Dunn.

I think his drafting ability may be his biggest weakness but ultimately yes I trust him to do what's best for the organization.

I wasn't on here, then, nor did I really get into the draft until 2008, but I did like the move for Ray.

Free agency aside, I don't know about that.  This draft is loaded, imo.  Also, I now know what 'jabroni' means (even though I take it that you're using that word to insult me) courtesy of the urban dictionary, so thanks for that, lol ;D. I'd never even heard of that term before.

And I'm actually very patient in regards to the rebuild.  I do, however, think that we have a unique opportunity, here, with all of these picks, to get the majority of the players we need to contend, hopefully, in this very draft, but he would have to nail every single selection to do so, so yeah...
