Why?

There's already a thread about this.  Middleton is likely better than what we're getting at #3.  He can shoot and defend.  He was already the best offensive player on a team last year.  The guys available at #3 might not amount to anything. 

If anyone "leaked" it, i'd assume it's Boston trying to put pressure on Philly to give up one of their bigs... or more likely trying to put pressure on Chicago by saying they have an alternative plan beyond just Ricky Butler.

...Or Ainge is striking out hardcore and wants it to be known that he is actually trying to make trades, he is just getting royally shutdown.

I can live with 3, 16, 23 and 35 for Middleton and 10. That still gives us a lottery pick, which we can use on a big man who can contribute right away (Poeltl or Sabonis), 31 for a project player, and a few draft-and-stashes (or trade for a second rounder next year).

Can you imagine if we traded for Middleton and still obtained Durant in free agency?

What's so great about Horford that would attract Kevin Durant ? I don't think the Celtics could do anything to attract KD unless its Jimmy Butler, Cousins, and Paul George but that's impossible
