Again, this is hypothetical.

Lets say the Sixers shock the whole world and draft Dunn at #1, and the Lakers draft Simmons at #2, or vice-versa.

So Ingram slips to #3 and we are on the clock.

Would you:
- Take Ingram at #3
- Still take someone like Brown or Bender at #3 (or another player)
- Trade it for Okafor or Noel (or a package of some sort with the Sixers)
- Trade it along with some more assets for Butler

Personally if the Bulls want Ingram at #3 then I wouldn't give up Bradley or Crowder to make the deal happen since Ingram is a top-2 value pick in the draft. What would you guys do?

My Take: I'd say take Ingram at #3 as opposed to overpaying for Butler because the Bulls will still want Bradley and Crowder back in the deal (and possibly a future Nets Pick).

Shop quickly to see if the Celtics can get a sure star instead of a possible one.

If that fails, draft Ingram.

Yep drafting Ingram is the easy route.

I wonder if the Bulls are very interested in Dunn/Ingram... enough to part ways with Butler (I still think he's essentially untouchable for them but no one knows for sure).

Draft Ingram and then see if there's a good enough deal out there for him.  If not, then you keep him.

TO me its a no-brainer, draft ingram.

Keep it no question. I still think Durant is Danny's favorite prospect ever. Even if Ingram is only a poor man's version, he will take him in a heartbeat.

Even if you're going to trade Ingram you just draft him. He's the one teams would want anyways.

I'd keep him unless a guy like Cousins was available though.

Hey, maybe you can have "Two Durants" on the team

Ingram and AJ for Cousins I would consider. Other than that keep him.

I know Ingram and Simmons are probably gone by the time we draft,  but have we looked/interview/worked out these two? Generally if someone is a clear cut #1 guy, does the #2 or #3 team even bother working them out?

seems like the common sense thing to do.  having Ingram as trade chip should go a lot farther in getting a stud player and cost us less of our other assets.

It's not that teams don't bother working them out, it's that players simply won't work out.  If you're projected to be #1 or #2, as Ingram is, working out for team #3 sends a message that you might not be a top 2 talent.  Additionally, it opens up both the chance for injury and a bad workout.  If Ingram somehow falls to #3, the Celtics are 100% picking him or trading the pick to a team that will 100% pick him.  That's without having worked him out.  If he has a bad workout, would the Celtics pass?  Could he fall to #4? Could he fall further, because Phoenix at #4 thinks "Gee, the top three teams all worked him out and passed.  What do they know that we don't?"

Boston has undoubtedly asked to work out Ingram.  That hasn't and won't happen.  Maybe they've had a brief phone conversation since the combine.  If he's got a clean medical report, perhaps the Celtics have seen that.  But maybe not.  Again, if Ingram falls, the Celtics will either pick him or trade the pick to a team that will draft him.  Workouts are unnecessary.
