I'm sure Philly could move up to 12 or higher now, they would have picks 16,23,24,26,35. Utah would love to get it on those picks.

I think even if people don't like him they have to understand he is worth more than this

I would do it. But I REALLY don't think Philly would. Its not that the package is THAT unbalanced, given the purported value drop of Okafor. I think Philly is really trying to pull themselves out of "really young unproven guys" to "guys who have proven themselves, and have upside". So Rozier fits, and the 16 probably has at least the potential to make them happy. But the other assets are unproven, and I don't think Philly wants to move backwards. Honestly, I don't really want Okafor, so if Danny pulls the trigger, this is the type of deal that I could probably live with. If he pulls the trigger on the 3 pick alone, I will be disgusted. If he pulls the trigger on "Okafor and another mid grade asset"(Saric or mid lotto pick), maybe I could stomach that. Either way, the writing is on the wall the #3 pick is worth more than Okafor at the moment, lets hope Danny Ainge is reading...

KG - yes, I would...but I don't think Philly would.

They would really like Dunn or established players...not more picks, I think.

Yes. Shedding marginal Nba players there. I don't see rozier ever being worth where Danny picked him at

I have all but given up on James Young

If the object of this trade proposal is to preserve the #3 pick, then the minimum you probably have to do is add Smart and subtract Young. Even with that, if I'm Philly, I want a deal that includes #3 without our players.

Philly wouldn't do this deal. The guy they want is Dunn, and Ainge has the leverage to make it happen.

The story now is Ainge wants Noel, not Okafor. And Philly prefers to keep Noel.

I would be flexible here. Okafor has more size and a better shot. Noel is getting stronger and is better defensively, but he'll be a RFA next year. Okafor has a couple years more contract protection.

I've seen both play quite a few times. Noel had a bad ACL couple years ago, but has come back OK. He has also gotten stronger. But he isn't a scorer, and he's not a muscle guy inside. But he's athletic and can block shots and rebound. Okafor can shoot--at least within 10-12 ft. And he can rebound and block shots--make no mistake. At the start of last year, he was a 20/10 guy
as a starting 5. Then his numbers dropped (especially rebounds) when they decided to try him and Noel side by side, Okafor at the 4. The experiment failed--neither could play the 4. A modern 4 has to have a perimeter shot, too.

I can see how Ainge might prefer Noel's D, but Okafor's O and size in the middle can't be overlooked. He's capable of scoring and protecting the rim. For a time, he was neck and neck with Townes for ROY, until he started playing with Noel and hurt his knee.

I think I would take either for the #3. Both were top 3 selections their draft years, so it's pretty even.

Danny has some leverage here. He effectively has Dunn, unless Philly drafts him #1. In which case Ainge gets Ingram.

As for a 3 way deal for Butler, that's also possible here. But it would cost the Celtics more.
I wonder if it would really change the Durant picture. It  would help to know something there before pulling the trigger. Seems like a longshot to me.

The fact that most people would do it tells you all you need to know.  Another lopsided trade in favor of the Celtics.  The players and the picks are pretty much garbage.

I am just so not in the Okafor Camp and I think we all can see why Danny prefers Noel over him. Noel would actually help this team Win in more ways than Okafor..

Low Post scoring is not as important as Rim Protecting, defense and Rebounding - 3 things that Okafor has no pension for.

Regardless of whatever wonderful deal we come up with to get the guy - At the end of the Day, his style of offense is not what We are running. We play with space, with speed, we spread the floor and we move constantly and on defense we are tenacious and we run you off the 3, we turn you over, we play with incredible speed on both sides - what we are missing is a rim protector and a serious force on the boards..

Okafor is not a fit here.
Sounds like some folks are confusing this guy with Anthony Davis or something.

In two years Bender could turn out to be a lot better prospect. He's younger, has more court awareness, takes up more space, doesn't already have a knee history, not a knucklehead as far as we know. He may turn out to be a bust. But, I'd still take a chance on him.

No, I wouldn't make this trade. Philly will get Dunn or whomever they want. Don't want to help them out. Danny has already helped a couple teams win Championships. Those days should be over.

Can you think of any other NBA role player that you'd trade three first round picks for?

What teams?  I could maybe see the Cavs with the Marcus Thornton, Bogans, and Lee deals (say what you will about Lee, but they missed him after Bogut went down), but what other teams?
I'm bitter.
