Danny is not going to trade the #3 for either Noel or okafor

That ship has sailed

He was going to not knowing the Celts would get the 3rd pick . Maybe 6-8

If Philly wants Dunn , take him 1st

What a greeedy team

That's my point! Jut take the guy you want for the love of God.

Maybe they will just take Dunn, but they want to see if they can pry Bradley out of Boston? Can't hurt for trying...

How did the Sixers get all these 1st round picks?  I understand their own picks, but what assets did they trade to get the Saric pick, 2016 Miami pick, 2016 OKC pick, the Lakers pick (next year), the Kings pick (right to swap in 2017, unprotected 1st in 2019)...

Wasn't Iggy traded in the Bynum deal and then Bynum lost all value?  Seems the Sixers trove of 1st round picks is endless. I'm not complaining as the C's have done well too, but I just don't understand what assets the Sixers had to trade to get all their picks.

There's a list of all traded picks/the teams involved/the date the happened here: http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed
I'm bitter.

I just don't understand what assets the Sixers had to trade to get all their picks.

Here's everything explained (Anyone can tell me if I'm wrong)
-They got Dario Saric by trading the rights to Elfrid Payton to Orlando for Saric's rights in the 2014 draft.
-They got the 2016 Miami pick from the Cavs (Compensation for when Lebron left for Miami in 2010) in the three-way Kevin Love-Andrew Wiggins deal between Philly, Minny, and Cleveland in 2014 (The deal where Minny stupidly traded for Thad Young when it was clear they were rebuilding).
-They got the OKC pick when they traded for Javale McGee's contract from Denver in 2015. Beforehand, OKC traded their pick to Cleveland in the three way deal between them, Cleveland, and New York to get Dion Waiters. Then Cleveland traded the OKC pick to Denver for Timofey Mozgov. Then the Philly-Denver deal happened.
-They got the Lakers pick in the 3-way deal from Phoenix with Milwaukee and Phoenix when they traded MCW to the Bucks, Milwaukee traded Brandon Knight to the Suns, and Phoenix traded the Lakers pick they got from the Steve Nash deal in 2012 to Philly (Still don't understand what the hell the Suns were thinking).
-They got the Kings pick(s) last summer when the Kings dumped all their contracts (Jason Thompson, Carl Landry, Nic Stauskas) to Philly in exchange for cap space. Besides the deal Danny made with the Nets for KG & Pierce, this had to be the worst deal made in recent memory by the Kings.

Hopefully that explains everything.

Nah, if they want Dunn, let's make them pay for it. We can offer them #3 for #1, straight-up. We take Simmons, LA likely takes Ingram. Dunn is sitting there for them at #3.

Celts and Sixers trade talk heats up. Philly really really wants Dunn per Tim Welsch. @CSNNE

Play hardball, Danny! Make them move down for Dunn! ;D

#3 #23 and 2017 Nets pick for #1 I think makes them do it. Honestly I do this trade. You get the clear number one overall pick in the draft and it fills a huge position of need on your team. Yes we lose out on a likely top 8 pick next year but why hope for the number 1 then when you could get that now and help finish the rebuild asap.

That would be tempting, though next year's draft is supposedly ridiculously stacked. Could we do an ability for them to pick swap with us next year with our pick already having a condition like that with Brooklyn? I don't see why we couldn't. That would essentially ensure them a top pick in next year's draft by essentially having Brooklyn, Sacramento, LA, and themselves working toward a top pick.

That's a good idea, it's a pick swapping carousel. And I fully realize that next year's draft class is supposedly stacked...but what if it doesn't pan out? There's so many ifs and uncertainties that I would be ok in trading it. Since the Celtics have IT, Bradley, Crowder, etc. on bargain bin contracts it would make sense to cash in assets now and sign max players to be as good as possible. In 2 or 3 years time the team is going to have to make decisions to let players go to maneuver around the cap. If we get Simmons now hopefully we can either flip him for an allstar or have him develop into one on his own by the 2017-2018 season where we still have players on affordable contracts.

It's crazy to me that after three years of tanking Philly is trying to break up the one strength they have before they even see how it plays on the court.

Why not rebuild your team around your 3 lotto 7 footers?  There's enough minutes for all of them, and none of them can play a full season at starters minutes without getting hurt anyways.

I forgot they had Saric. I wonder if they would do a deal around Noel, Saric and a future pick for 3, Hunter and Young.

I figured this was coming. Philly really wants Dunn bad. The Celts need a big. So it seems the chemistry is there. Besides, the Colangelos go back to Phoenix days with Ainge.

It boils down to who Ainge and maybe Stevens prefers. Do they want the pick, or do they want an Okafor or Noel? Or maybe Butler?  Okafor is young and cheap, and provides offense inside plus some rim protection. Noel is strictly defense--no shot.

What are the other options for the middle? Horford? They could sign him, too, and put him at the 4. Versatile vet who can shoot outside. But he may stay in Atlanta. Other vets in the middle will be expensive. Even Noah, who may be past his prime.

I say Okafor or Noel. An opportunity to plug the middle with somebody young and cheap. And with some experience.

Seems like Danny drafts Dunn in any event just to have leverage in trade later whether it be to trade Dunn or another guard. I'd be shocked if we don't draft Dunn at this juncture. Philly showing its cards. Bad poker players.

Great, then we should expect more than just Okafor in return.

Okafor was a #3 in what may have been a stronger draft for bigs.

I doubt they want to pass up the only player in the draft with superstar potential for a guy who projects as a starter.

If they want Dunn, they'll trade one of the bigs for a pick in the range he's expected to be selected (3-7).

It would be a win for the Celtics if they could get Okafor for #3.  Can't wait for draft night.

Okafor was a #3 in what may have been a stronger draft for bigs.

The Celtics reportedly already stated a few weeks ago that they want more than Okafor for #3. Also, separate reports have said Okafor can't get the Sixers a top 5 draft pick in this draft so far, they have been trying desperately. Whether it reflects his talent, or the fact that the league knows the Sixers are desperate to move one of their bigs, or both, who knows, but that's what it is.
