Celts and Sixers trade talk heats up. Philly really really wants Dunn per Tim Welsch. @CSNNE

Play hardball, Danny! Make them move down for Dunn! ;D

Hope it's more Noel than Okafor. I'm not keen in giving them number three. I wonder if we could move down in the draft, pick up some more assets in the process, and then trade for Noel.

Noel IS going to cost more than Okafor so if you don't want to give up #3 how do you think you'd get Noel.   Philly wants a top 5 pick to get Dunn and you aren't going to do that by moving down...

Danny is not going to trade the #3 for either Noel or okafor

That ship has sailed

He was going to not knowing the Celts would get the 3rd pick . Maybe 6-8

If Philly wants Dunn , take him 1st

What a greeedy team

They should just draft Simmons for us. We'll throw in 16 and 23

Great, then we should expect more than just Okafor in return.

I really wish this wasn't true...

But it is. I wouldn't trade Noel for 3 tho if I was Bryan Colonjello. His defense is the perfect match for the way the NBA is trending.

#1 pick for #3 and Bradley sounds good to me. Phili gets their backcourt of the future, we get our franchise star finally.

Noel is a one way player who's one year away from RFA and a big time pay day. Were really starting to undersell the value of #3 around here.

If they want #3 without giving up the #1, put Okafor, the rights to Dario Saric, the Lakers pick, and the Kings unprotected pick all on the table and then we start negotiating.

#3 #23 and 2017 Nets pick for #1 I think makes them do it. Honestly I do this trade. You get the clear number one overall pick in the draft and it fills a huge position of need on your team. Yes we lose out on a likely top 8 pick next year but why hope for the number 1 then when you could get that now and help finish the rebuild asap.

How did the Sixers get all these 1st round picks?  I understand their own picks, but what assets did they trade to get the Saric pick, 2016 Miami pick, 2016 OKC pick, the Lakers pick (next year), the Kings pick (right to swap in 2017, unprotected 1st in 2019)...

Wasn't Iggy traded in the Bynum deal and then Bynum lost all value?  Seems the Sixers trove of 1st round picks is endless. I'm not complaining as the C's have done well too, but I just don't understand what assets the Sixers had to trade to get all their picks.

I'm really starting to think that a Simmons for Dunn, Bradley, and other assets deal might actually be possible and happen. There's been an awful lot of smoke regarding their envying of Dunn, and with the reports of Okafor/Noel's low value and their already clogged front court, it does make a ton of sense, especially if they can deal Okafor elsewhere for an upgrade on the wing or backcourt.

That would be tempting, though next year's draft is supposedly ridiculously stacked. Could we do an ability for them to pick swap with us next year with our pick already having a condition like that with Brooklyn? I don't see why we couldn't. That would essentially ensure them a top pick in next year's draft by essentially having Brooklyn, Sacramento, LA, and themselves working toward a top pick.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
People are bringing up some good points:

-If Philly wants Dunn so bad, then they should just draft him. Why take a player you don't really want or need when another player is available who you think will be a star?

-It is good to know that Philly 'really really' wants Dunn. If they don't take him, I would be interested in an Okafor/Saric for #3/Young/2nds swap.

-Also seems very possible we could get #1 without giving up other major pieces.

Looks like we are in the driver's seat here and could even walk away with Ingram if Philly goes for Dunn on draft night.
