Asterisk their first title too.  Lebron would have beat them had his entire team not been hurt.

It doesn't work like that. GS can say they would have won in 5 if Green didn't get suspended or Bogut didn't get injured. Things tend to happen as they should.

There should have also been an asterisk in 2010 where the Lakers won because we lost Kendrick Perkins.

Also Curry was clearly half the player after his MCL injury that he had been for the last two seasons. That turned the Warriors from a great team to one that was just very good. I think we are all smart enough to realize you can't have it both ways. If you want to knock warriors for beating a banged up Cleveland team last year, you have to knock Cleveland for beating a team with injured players this year and a very questionable suspension that may have altered the series.

84 Celtics title gets an asterisk because of Jamaal Wilkes
Giants '10 superbowl gets one cus of Gronk

No. Every title or accomplishment or record must be viewed within context. Context always matters. This victory for the Cavs adds a lot of context to the Warriors accomplishments over the past 2 seasons, but Id stop far far short of an asterisk.

Their regular season wins record doesn't come with an asterisk.

They dominated the regular season like nobody else before.

But you have to look at that now with the understanding that it was just a regular season accomplishment.  They were not the best team in the playoffs.

Moving forward, the Warriors need to win another title to avoid looking like a historical footnote in LeBron's story, similar to how the Celtics became a footnote for Kobe and LeBron in the 2008-2012 period.

If the Warriors never make it to the Finals or win another title, I think they'll be looked at kind of like a better version of the Steve Nash Suns.  Like, imagine if the Suns made it to a couple Finals and won a title.

Yep.  Pretty much spot on.
