With all the talk about the cap going up, we've talked about players like a Horford, Whiteside, Batum, Barnes, etc getting max deals.

It's crazy to think about those players making 3 times as much as Crowder, IT, and Bradley.

What if Danny pays $6 mil to $8 mil to a player like Terrence Jones, Dwight Powell, or Allen Crabbe?  Jay Dudley was mentioned - he's not as young as the other 3 but he's a good fit.  Evan Turner has also been mentioned.

1) We have enough value contracts.  We need top-end talent.
2) There are unlikely to be many value signings this summer or next.  The salary floor is going to be so high that a lot of teams will start throwing around $10 million 1+1 contracts just because they can.

That said, if the C's strike out on the big names, my "value" guy, as it were, is Ian Clark.  I think he'll be available for no more than $6 million a year.

Crabbe will make more than that. Terrence Jones is too much of a health risk. Dwight Powell isn't worth signing. Dudley will make more than that. So will Turner.

If you're looking at six to eight million you need to look at guys who were playing less than twenty minutes a night. Expendable players with replaceable skillsets.

I guess what the OP is probably saying is, who is the next Jae Crowder that we can sign? Danny has said that there are a lot of very good players in this league sitting at the end of their teams' benches. I am still a bit frazzled by all the Lebron-gasms going around, but I will try to re-visit this thread later.

In descending order, Big Al, Chandler Parsons and Ryan Anderson.

Worthy of second look, Noah, Thomas Robinson and Haslem.

Evan Fornier makes some sense as a young vet who can fill the bucket and not break the bank.

I think you're mistaken to believe he won't break the bank.

Here are some names:

Cole Aldrich
Maurice Harkless
Solomon Hill
Dewayne Dedmon
Lance Stephenson

Not saying any of those is the next Crowder.

But those guys might be had for less than ten million annually.

ID like to think Noah will be.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I think $15-20 million.  I'd be shocked if it were lower than $15m.

I'd love to bring Noah in on a 2 year deal, even if the second is a player option.
Guy is a fighter, a leader, and a cbs type.
If he regains his form we may risk loading him after the year, but I'll take that risk and hope he loves playing here more than moving on.
If he remains at his current level he'll still be a big asset as a 20 min/game vet leader.

I'd steer clear at more than $15. Unless he is better a defender than I recall.

Alternatively Crabe would be a great get

Depending on what our roster shakes out to be after the draft I could see Eric Gordon signing an Evan Turner like contract. Something around $16m/2 years.

Dorrell Wright and Chase Budinger are two 3 point specialists that should warrant consideration.

Marvin Williams might not be a value free agent but could be got for less than others of his production level

I think that with all the picks owned C's need to look for a big star not bargain deals.
