Gary Payton II. Ideally, imo, we'd trade 6 to Denver for 7 and 15, use the latter to take Maker, unless something strange happens, and then take Gary Payton II at 23, if he's even available. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bird take him, but if he's still there at 23 it's probably going to our last chance to get him, imo. Between the Clippers at 25, San Antonio at 29, and Jerry West - I mean, Golden State

) at 30, I just can't see him slipping to the second round. Especially in the case of San Antonio. Parker is getting up there, and after that semifinal series with OKC, I'd have to think that GP II would be their first choice if they want to remain a contender, even if Duncan and Ginobili don't retire. You've got to have someone who can at least give you a fighting chance against Westbrook, Curry, Paul, and Lillard, etc., defensively. I can just see it now - the Spurs once again taking someone deemed to be too old by everyone else's standards, only to turn into their point guard of the future, which would only serve to reignite the debate over seniors, their impact, how did we miss so and so, was he an exception, how teams like the Spurs continue to remain at the top because of their drafting acumen, and how we'll never make that mistake again, etc. Sigh. Him and Dunn on our team would be awesome, imo, especially if we wanted to press or something. The other team's guards would crap their pants, lol
