Wasserman is the lead draft writer for Bleacher Report, and he's fairly keyed in with scouts...but it is Bleacher Report  :P
Posted this tweet today...

-He also says Chriss will go top 8. (duh?)
-the Lakers have brought in both Hield and Brown for second workouts which seems weird to me. Was Danny talking to Schwartz about Ingram falling?
-Malachi Richardson has a 1st round promise
-Believes we are taking Hield if we keep pick
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.

That's the right pick to me.

Buddy Hields ceiling to me is a James Harden type who can defend better with worse ball handling abilities than Harden. Which would make me ecstatic.

Murray, i think would be a wise choice, although i worry about his speed and if he will be able to get his shots off and falling at the next level.

Bender has far too much bust potential, and probably doesnt possess the ability to help the team right away like Murray and Hield, which i honestly think is a factor.

Jaylen Brown wouldn't be bad. He's another guy like Stanley Johnson who can come in right away and guard the lebrons and durants of the NBA right away. Those guys are a highly valuable commodity in todays game.

If it's Marquese Chriss i'm going to need a new flat screen.

If it's Dunn then that probably means the pick is being traded.

Yeah I really think LA will take Brown and we will choose between Ingram and Hield. Or maybe the bulls or sac jump up for Ingram and we get Butler or Cousins. I would think Ingram and Avery would net either.

I have a hard time seeing us pick Hield. His ceiling just seems too limited to me for Danny to take him third.

I have had a feeling though that Ingram drops due to Dunn going to LA. Them trading Russell to Philly for one of their bigs then makes so much sense.

That's not even a choice lol I'd be thrilled if Ingram dropped

Also I forgot to add that if that happened getting butler would be a given but Ainge would have a choice to make: potential homegrown star vs proven talent that would cost more

Ingram is like going second. If LA doesn't want Ingram at 2, they trade the pick.

Yup ......something is goi g to give between LA , Philly and Boston.    Philly is in the driver seat deciding between Dunn , Russell .

I believe Danny will sweeten the deal for Oakfor on draft night .   Philly needs to play ball next season......no more tanking .....they need a guard ......Danny can help fix them up.

TBH, I think if Ingram makes the improbable slide to 3, Danny is very likely to keep him.  Sure, Butler is a more immediate payoff but Ingram has the potential to be the scorer we want from Butler and no further cost than that pick.  Butler will certainly cost more than that pick to get him.  The assets that would have to be included with #3 to get Butler would then be available to go in a different deal to address other needs.

So trade Smart and Young for 24 and 26.

Come on now.  Buddy's ceiling is nowhere near that.  Let's be realistic.... When have you ever seen Buddy drive like Harden?

I think we should keep the #3 and make a trade for all/part of what the T-Wolves proposed for Butler. Also, if we can use Smart to get Okafor we should do it. But with Hield the LAL will probably want to make a trade if they do not choose him over Ingram. If that is the case we may/should look into what it would take to get D. Russell as well(especially bc LAL have been linked to many FA'sin the next 2 off-seasons, including Westbrook)

But if Ingram drops to number 3 then that is a completely dif story.

MIN
- Lavine(can play point and shoots almost 40% from 3)
-#5= can turn that into Hield(if Ingram drops and they do not select Hield)

I think we should look into absorbing a contract on MIN, Nikola Pekovic 2 years 13mil per, in order to keep the ask down.

With
Lavine
Hield
Ingram
-
Okafor
I would look to trade guys like IT/Crowder/AB so we can get this team all worked out. Maybe we could go all in and do the Greek Freek at #4 for this team.
Lavine
Hield
Ingram
Giannis A
Okafor

I admittedly love Hield, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that statement. Hield has shown plenty of ability to get to the rim and finish with athleticism. His jumpshot danger helps him get his first step off and create separation. Excellent footwork too. Not as shifty as Harden but certainly potential to be great driving scorer.

He absolutely reminds me a ton of James Harden.

Buddy Hield against #1 Kansas.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uK4EwZfZ1s

It's 7 minutes long, but you're going to see a ton of Hield driving like Harden in it.  Watch it and let me know your thoughts.  If you don't want to watch all 7, just watch the first two minutes and you'll see at least 3 drives and finishes and a couple drive and dishes.  All very Harden-like plays.
