"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Sounds good to me....we'd probably need to add Amir to make salaries match.

One of those "Believe it when I see it" type deals. I won't believe any rumor leading up to the draft until Woj has confirmed it.

I really don't think we'll see any trades announced until after the NBA SuperBowl.  Keep the focus on what's important right now.  Historical game with so much at stake.

And the draft is a week from now.  If there's any chance of Simmons or Ingram slipping, there's no point to trading the pick right now.  Just hold tight.  We'll know what's up soon enough.  I'm basically ignoring any rumors at this point, because I don't think it makes logical sense for Boston to move the pick until they are on the clock.

The Celtics wouldn't make this trade official until after the draft and probably not until the new league year starts.  Right now more players would have to be included to consummate the trade as they would be like 4 million short in outgoing salary and don't have enough cap space.

I need to see it to believe it.  Cause after aaaaall the different talk and ideas around different trades that we've had here on this blog, AB and the #3 just doesn't feel like it's enough to me.  There's gotta be other people or picks involved.

Yuh, exactly, I think you have to wait at least until the team option on Amir can be officially waived (or expire or whatever it is) and his salary hit goes off the books before they will bother with this deal. There is no way in hell they don't ask for Rozier or Hunter or even Mickey though..

Unadulterated horsecrap.

(1) No deal will go down until draft night
(2) Said deal would be contingent upon who is available at #3

Much rather have this go down than pick Dragan.   This could draw a free agent, Dragan cannot.   Butler is a proven NBA player, Bender is not proven in Maccabi.

Or after we make the pick for someone else. I want to see if Ingram drops to us now before I move the pick anyway.

I'm not buying this one at all. Not going to get Jimmy Butler for a pick and an injury prone guard.

I agree with this but I wouldn't be surprised if Danny had that deal on the table he would pull the trigger. As others have said Amir most likely would be involved for salary purposes.

If you made that trade and added Horford and Ryan Anderson in free agency can we compete with the Cavs?

A trade of #3 and Avery (plus Amir for salary) for Butler is interesting but how does that compare to using the #3 to get Okafor?

I would actually do either or maybe you can put these together and have Chicago get Okafor and Avery, Philly get #3 and we get Butler.

I guess I just prefer more of known (Okafor or Butler) than an unknown which is the case for any draft pick.

I understand that many would love this trade to happen but I actually hope it falls through.

Butler isn't that much better than Bradley and Bradley actually fits our scheme better because he's a better shooter and perimeter defender.

In Chicago Butler has shown that he can't play off the ball and the team struggled with lineups that had him and Rose on the court at the same time. How will this be different with IT and Smart?

As much as I hate to say it, I'd prefer Love
