I'm rooting for Lebron.  Would be an awesome story.

Gross. I'd rather root for the guy who isn't so arrogant that it makes my eyes bleed. A little humbleness is good for the game, which is why Curry is so much better for the game than Lebron.

Curry is as much of a diva as Lebron.

You're going to have to show me some examples, because I simply just don't know what you're talking about. I watched a lot of Golden State this year, and I've always seen Curry be nothing but respectful. He celebrates, sure, but that's not arrogance. I don't think I've ever even seen him talk trash or crap to other players like I see Lebron do every game.
My sense is LeBron is far more of a winer and all around jerk than Curry. Steph blew his cool and made some bad mistakes last night. However, over the course of their careers, LeBron is much easier to dislike. I am rooting for GS all the way.

Lebron is a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..  Talks Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. then complains all the time.  Product of our society and of the media. He's not earned Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..  If I'm allowed to travel, run people over, intimidate the referees every game and get fouls called in my favor I guess I'd be the best Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing player in the league too.

People are sheep.  They eat up what the media has told them is a good basketball player and the league has built itself to cater to him. Jordan, Kobe, Curry, they're true basketball players.  They play the game the way it should be played not like an out of control ape that didn't get his favorite banana to eat.

Curry isn't humble at all.  Dude has a gigantic ego.  Was glad to see him turn into a bit of a heal at the end of the game.  Much more in line with his true character.

Curry certainly is not humble, but no star athlete really is. Calling him a "heel" is just nonsense. People who claim this should be disregarded as biased fools.

Fact is, LeBron is the biggest d bag in the game right now.
Curry turned full on heel getting ejected after throwing his mouth piece into the crowd.  He should never throw his mouth piece but to hit a Cleveland fan (one of the owners' sons no less) is just straight up disrespectful and the move a heel.  And then his whining after the game and frankly all series.  He has whined with the best of them and much more than Lebron has.  I would think that would make you a heel, no?

LeBron gets away with worse behavior all the time, but because he's LeBron he gets a pass.

Curry had every right to be angry with the way that game was officiated. It probably didn't matter, the Cavs simply outplayed them, but the refs were totally one sided in their calls.
When has Lebron thrown something into the crowd?

The fouls were even in the game (25 personal fouls each and the Cavs took only 3 more foul shots and that includes the one for the technical).  Plenty of missed calls and plenty of ticky tack calls, but Love's 3rd foul was the worst call in the game.  Love didn't touch Green at all.

The Cavs won because they shot 5 less shots but made 7 more and made 5 more at the line (despite only have 3 more of those).  Anything other than it just whining for the sake of whining.

Stats don't really tell how a game is affected. The fouls can easily be made even by calling fouls in garbage time. The Warriors could get many more free throws with how one sided some of these games have been. As Kerr said, the Cavs on defense hold Curry and Klay the entire time and get away with it but often times the moment the Warriors get chippy on D the whistles start blowing. It's not even a fair game at that point because the Cavs are allowed to be physical and create contact while the Warriors are constantly in foul trouble. The Cavs were in the bonus six minutes into the game, the Warriors had three fouls called in the first 90 seconds of the game when the Cavs blew it open to start.

I'm not saying the refs are the reason the Warriors lost but it certainly affects the style of play they're allowed to play with and it definitely impacts the end of the result. The officiating has been inconsistent all series.
The Cavs weren't in the bonus 6 minutes into the game.  In fact the Warriors had 6 fouls in the entire 1st quarter.  And for the record, Love picked up his 2nd foul and was on the bench 90 seconds into the game.

2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I just can't get over how biased people are against Lebron.

Let's get the facts straight here:

1)The game 5 suspension for Green was because he received too many flagrants.
They make their decision regardless of whether a suspension is due or not.
It was simply upgraded to a flagrant.
That resulted in a suspension.

Draymond slapped Lebron's nuts. He kneed Adams in the nuts multiple times. Had he not been a habitual ball basher, he would have played game 5. Can you imagine being an OKC fan and not having Green suspended for those crucial games when he kneed Adams in the nuts? Not once, but TWICE. The dirtiest, slimiest and most unsportsman kind of behavior we've seen in an NBA playoffs in the last 10 years- and if he'd been suspended one game like he should have been, the Warriors and their fan boy bandwagon probably wouldn't even be competing for the title.
The hypocrisy of some people is embarrassing. Just imagine if that was against us in the finals and Green kneed our starting big man like KG or Perk, and then didn't receive a suspension-and we went on to lose the series after being up 3-1. We'd be calling for Silver's and Green's heads and blowing our gaskets!

2)The reffing in game 6 was not one sided. Kyrie Irving was belted by Green, Thompson and even Curry.
The calls against Curry were very easy to calls to make during the game. He blatantly reached on Irving multiple times and could have gotten called at least two other times but they let it go. Steve Kerr was screaming at them and they made a very favorable decision towards the Warriors by not calling that an offensive foul on Steph- why is that?
Because by not calling that a defensive foul, they obviously knew that it was Steph kicking his leg out. That is called helping out the MVP with 5 fouls at a crucial point in the game.

On the last Curry foul he CLEARLY hits Lebron on the arm. Lebron as the offensive player, has right of way, and Curry ran past him, creating contact- this is an EASY call to make as a referee, there were TWO SEPARATE FOULS HERE! And people are whining about it being rigged against the Warriors/extending the series blah blah...gimme a break!

The Lebron bashing here is simply pathetic.
Curry has been a whiney mope all series. I love him but he's been completely flaccid and the Cavs have defended him very well- hitting him every time in the pick and roll and forcing him to defend.

It's complete crap to blame the refs for the Cavs winning tonight. They outplayed the Warriors hands down. Curry tried to do too much on the defensive end and got caught. The pressure the Cavs put on Curry forced him to make some tough defensive decisions and it worked well- brilliant coaching by Lue by the way.

the factors for the Cavs being in this series:
1) Lebron
2) Curry sucking
3)The Warriors losing Bogut and Iggy to significant injuries- just as the Cavs dealt with last year.

The refs have had absolutely NOTHING to do with it and it's a blatant cop out to suggest they some how 'gave' this game to the Cavs. Show some respect for the performance we are witnessing from Lebron. Yeah he can be a ****, but respect that he's trying to bring a title to poor loserville Cleveland and his home town- and that he's carrying this team against one of the greatest teams of all time.
He has earned the respect and if he wins this title, it will be one of the greatest finals victories ever coming back from 3-1 down.

You keep pushing this same stuff, but even the most Lebron-riding ESPN people were saying that the Curry fouls were ridiculous.

As I said in the other thread that you called out people for talking about the officiating, several of us were talking about the inconsistency that went ALL AROUND that game. And I don't even remember any single person saying the game was cost by the refs. No game has been decided by the refs this series, because they've all pretty much been blowouts.

They were obviously outplayed last night - but it's UNDENIABLE that Curry has got the short end of the stick with the officiating this series. He's been in foul trouble costing him playing time in at least three of the games, and he's averaging over two more fouls a game this series than the previous series, you know the ones where he went up against Westbrook, Lillard, and Harden, who are all better and just as aggressive as Kyrie. He's getting called for stuff that he never got called for in the previous series, which is crap and just shows how inconsistent and incompetent NBA officiating really is.

I'm not pushing anything. I'm pointing out the other side, plain and simple.
The reason Curry has 2 more fouls per game this series is because the Cavs are isolating him in the pick and roll, far more aggressively than any of their previous match ups he's had and it's putting him in tough spots covering Kyrie or Lebron.

We're going to have to disagree on this one because the inconsistent ref comments are the typical sour grapes stuff of Lebron haters. I'm assuming you dislike Lebron a lot right? There is simply no reason for you to have this much emotional attachment to the premise that the refs are hurting Curry, it's simply not true.
I love Curry, but he's off his game. He's probably injured and the Cavs are punishing him and making him defend.
Agree to disagree I guess. No offense intended just differing opinions.

No offense taken whatsoever. You must not pay attention to me posting very much, because I'm ALWAYS critical of the refs lol  ;D

I just find it absolutely ridiculous that the refs impact this sport so much. I'm fine with the game being called physical or tight, though I'd much prefer a physical game, but it seems like the refs are just so inconsistent anymore from game to game, and even from quarter to quarter, that it's just entirely frustrating to watch as a fan, let alone as a player.

And, no, I totally agree with you, Curry has been a major disappointment this series, and other than the inconsistency with the calls on Curry, the refs haven't been very influential at all in this series due to all but one game being blowouts.

I'm just always critical of the refs because it just seems that any person on the street can come in and be more consistent than them. I think it's all political and they use their judgment on what is and isn't a foul way too much.

I don't buy the ref bias people are spouting off. I don't have a horse in this race since I'm not a fan of Lebron or the Warriors. I'm just watching the game because that's the only game on.

Watching it from an unbiased lens, I don't think Curry has been getting jobbed. I think it's a physical series and the refs have called it that way. Most of the contact would likely be fouls in the regular season but hey, we're in the finals! The occasional ticky tack foul confounds me but other than that, I think it has been pretty consistent. I mean, after layups, you see both teams consistently complaining to the refs.

I agree that the refs during these playoffs as a whole have been pretty average (or worse). I just think that during the finals, they've let it be physical, but they've been more consistent than say, the OKC v GSW series.
I was watching game 6 again last night and I just think people often take for granted how many calls Curry gets, and whilst Lebron gets his fair share of calls, they've let the Warriors be physical with him and get away with a lot.
A perfect example of this is in the 3rd quarter at about 6 minnutes 20 seconds remaining when Lebron drives left in the half court, goes straight to the basket and gets absolutely mauled by Rush and Ezeli with no call.
Curry then gets the ball immediately after in the half court, goes left and pulls an amazing move mid air, with some slight contact with Thompson, and gets the And 1.
Curry gets that speculative call and Lebron gets nothing on the other end. This stuff happens all playoffs. So I can see your frustration.
My frustration was in that game thread I read at least 5 Celticsbloggers (not you) saying 'rigged for a 7th game', Lebron is snitching his way to a title' etc.. which irks me to no end.

Anyway, TP for the heated yet respectful banter :)

Not a LeBron fan but when he stops thinking and is just aggressive he is the leagues best player.  His game slows way down when he starts thinking on the court. If they continue to put defensive pressure on Curry he is likely to continue to be off his game.  Kerr is going to have to earn his money in game 7 with adjustments.

In any event, I see the refs swallowing their whistles after game 6 phantom calls.
