Yeah, to clean this up a bit, it would probably have to be something like:

Cs: Wiggins
Minny: Butler
Chi: 3, 16, Dieng, Rozier

But I agree that a Wiggins for Butler swap is probably the easiest for both sides - no reason to bring the Cs into it.

Again, where are the 2 first round picks for Minny? Wiggins is worth more than Butler (age, production, contract) and Dieng is no slouch.

I don't think Wiggins is more valuable than Butler and I don't think Minny thinks so either - why are they so into getting Butler when they already have a younger version on their team?

Like I said, I don't think the Cs really fit in here, but if Minny is willing to deal Wiggins in a Butler trade, then it can't hurt for Danny to make a few calls.

If Minny want Butler over Wiggins, I fail to see why they would involve the Celtics.

I also fail to see why Minny would trade WIggins for Butler.

This is how we get Wiggins in this trade.

Ring...Ring...

KG "Hello"

DA "Hey KG, hope things are well, too bad about the Nets stuff, thought you and PP would kill it over there. Didn't think they'd hired Kidd as a coach though"

KG "Yeah that was #$#$ up and #$#$3.....What do you want DA?"

DA "Remember how I did everything to bring you in, and you got your ring?"

KG "Yeah...."

DA "I want Wiggins"

:P

What about this 3 way trade idea (principal pieces)

To Wolves: Butler
To Celtics: Wiggins, 14th pick (from Bulls)
To Bulls: 3rd, 5th, 23rd pick, Rozier, Dieng

Yay or nay?

Laughable. Wiggins is worth far more than Butler, never mind Butler and Dieng, never mind the 5th, Butler and Dieng. Are you drunk or did you forget to include the two unprotected 1sts that are going to back to Minny in this deal?

Butler ain't Lebron you know. He's not even Paul George. In fact he may not be significantly worth more than IT.

So how come the cavs gave up wiggins , another former number pick (Bennett - at the time value still high) for Love?

Because they were in "win now" mode.  It had nothing to do with Wiggins and everything to do what they thought Love could give them right away.
and it was before Wiggins ever played a game.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Both of your paragraphs are slightly shorter summaries of my two paragraphs, but flipped. We agree.

You know this makes no sense whatsoever, don't you? You just said that you don't think Wiggins is more valuable than Butler (which is mind-boggling when you factor in age, production, upside and contract). Then you said Minny had a younger version of Butler on their team. Which is it? Because a younger version of Butler is worth more than an older version of Butler.
