Sorry if this has been addressed before and I haven't seen it.

Many posters have suggested a trade back to the T'Wolves at 5. The only way I see this as possible is if they want Dunn and we decide that despite our roster we are going to pick him as BPA. In this situation do you see it likely that Bender will still be there? For it to happen Phoenix would need to be sold on either Brown or Chriss.

If you are a fan of picking Bender with the 3 pick then is it a worthwhile risk? You would certainly get the opportunity to either Bender or Brown which I know are the top two guys for a lot of posters. If you are confident that Bender will be there at 5 then it's a great way to acquire another asset in the process

If the Celtics want Bender they need to take him at 3.. if not they will Certainly end up with Brown.  PHO will not let him pass.

Every single other team in the lottery would love to have him.  None of those teams have much in the way of stretch bigs (let alone 7ft. 2 way stretch bigs) under contract for next year.  If the C's want him you must take him at 3 or Pho., Min. or someone trading up will.

I agree, I think the Porzingis effect is going to hang over every GMs decision making.  The drafting of these type of players is all about ceiling which very few ever reach but make the risk worthwhile IMO.

The more Ive seen/read, I think the Jaylen Brown stuff is a smokescreen and if we keep the pick, its Bender at #3 just because if he gets some run with us this year, Brad can help him shine and he becomes another potentially coveted asset, of which we lack those with star power potential.

I hope that upcoming workout sells them.

If you really want a player you don't trade down and hope he is still there, you just draft him at your spot.

With a week to go until the draft, I am happy to finally see some separation among the picks. Not everybody will agree, but it seems that despite great workouts from Brown, Hield, Chriss, and Murray, it is not going to be enough for those guys.

Bender and Dunn should and will be the #3 and #4 picks. If the Cs are sold on somebody like Brown, then they should feel comfortable trading back and picking up additional assets. If not, they just need to take one of those two and hope for the best; they also provide the most value in a trade this summer for a star (if one isn't available on draft night).

Dunn and Bender are now tier two, in my opinion.

Interesting. Not sure I get the same vibe.

If we had the 5 pick this year I suspect most on the blog would be lamenting that bender is out of reach.
Instead we have the 3 and a loud contingent of posters are downplaying his potential.

Take Bender at 3.
Bring in Pau or Noah two year deal.
Give the kid a few years to develop.

IT, Smart
Bradley, Turner
Jae, FA
Amir, JJ, Bender
Pau, Oly, Bender

I think it is only because neither Dunn nor Bender have worked out for teams. Once Bender does his workouts in the next week, his value will plummet, too.  ;)

There is no way that Bender makes it to #5 unless he totally flops in his workouts this coming week with Minnesota, Phoenix & Boston.  And by 'flop', I mean seriously look incompetent on the court and like a total jerk off of it, insulting each team's staff and making lewd comments about the GM's wife.

Phoenix in particular has been said to be very, very interested in him for a long time.   I think they get a little excited every time a new rumor comes out asserting Danny will take Murray, Brown or Dunn or Chriss.

If Danny decides he wants Bender, then he will need to just take him at #3.

Any acrobatics that result in trading down from #3 in order to get more 'value' out of the draft will mean taking a different player with the top pick.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Ok, so we take Bender at 3. I thought Phoenix might choose Chriss over Bender but you have to be sure of that to trade down to 5.

For me Bender has always been the clear-cut #3 pick so I'm happy with it. I was just thinking about whether we could play the system to get an extra asset

I actually think Minn moving up to #3 would be to get bender. With bender working out for the Cs, Suns and Minn it isn't a stretch for the t-wolves to fall in love with him and start hearing grumbling that he won't make it past the Suns at 4 ( even if Celtic generated rumblings). This could lead to an3-5 draft night swap.
