Amazing. If only Celtics had more space on the roster.. Lucky Brooklyn does!

Seriously though, here are the guys under contract (or with options that will undoubtedly be picked up):

Brook
Thad
Jarett (team option) - 6mill
Rondae
McCoullough
Ellington
Larkin
Killpatrick
Markel Brown (team option)

Assuming aren't picked up (almost definitely), plus their draft picks (two second rounders), they only have 9 players on their roster.

They will need to buy at least 6 FA's, and I think Bennett sounds like a great starting place. Also Nick Young, Tyler Zeller, Glen Davis, and Hedo Turkolglu.

Not long until Nets Watch starts again soon. WooHoooooooooooo!

Smart move, they need any chance at upside they can get.

This move reeks of desperation but it would allow them to, if nothing else to feel more comfortable trading Thaddeus Young. Good news for us in the '17 Draft, if we get one more great pick from Brooklyn I'd be perfectly content with them starting to finally turning it around in 17/18.

[dang]... there goes the value of the 2017 draft pick.  If they sign Bennett we're doomed.

Hedo Turkoglu still plays basketball? That's as surprising as the focus of the OP.

Hahaha I remember back when I was like 10 playing NBA live 09, he used to kill it in the 3 point shootout every time. Dude was unstoppable ;D

Well I can't wait for everyone to be talking about the next draft class. Bam Bam and Dennis Smith Jr have been my 2 pick for awhile, check them out.

Dennis Smith Jr has a Steve Francis type feel to him IMO

Also 2018 Deandre Ayton is pretty dang good and has been for awhile, not hard to tell he's gonna be legit.

Blossomgame, Bam Bam, Bender, Butler, (Burant). Berry nice starting lineup in 2020.

What Upside?  There is none in this case.

Actually, if the mods are OK with it, we could sticky a new post for the 2016-17 Nets pick.

We need to analyze every single move they make in depth  ;D

That would be a good realty show!

I don't know what's the deal with Bennett, but that article doesn't make it sound like he's turned a corner despite the hype from his trainer.

Quote
"When he was here late March/early April he got in tremendous shape, worked really hard, coming off the Raptors where he didn't play a lot. He wasn't in great shape, but he got in great shape working out twice a day, lifting weights and doing everything that he needed to do."

When you were on an NBA roster weeks earlier, on your 3rd team in 3 years, going to and from the d-league, and already out of shape, I don't know if you're ever going to get it.
