Ainge is going to go all out to acquire an "impact player".
Certainly, there has been enough written about Okafor, Noel, Butler, and Love.

But should that fail to happen, why not adopt a draft strategy that consolidates picks for 2 in the top 8 picks. Say 3 and 25 and 35 to Phoenix for 4 and 13? We might not get his first choice of these players, but it would be fun to get two of them. (Bender, Murray, Dunn, Chriss, Hield, Brown)

Consolidate 16, 23, Rozier, etc and try to move up to 6 or 8.

If he's gonna trade IT-AB-#3 to Bulls then I'd at least want Rose in that deal with Butler. I don't like this going all out unless it means we get Durant.

Pretty sure if you got Rose + Butler, you'd no longer have cap space to sign Durant.

The AB+Jerebko+Rozier+#3 deal for Butler makes some logical sense, because after letting Zeller, Turner, Sully and Amir walk, they'd have barely enough cap space to sign Durant and Horford.  So if that's the plan, I can see the logic in it.   Adding Rose destroys that.

I think that Danny has to consider this.  We have so many picks that we can't use this year.
Its fun to think who the Celtics can pick up in the 2nd round. But I'd be for packaging some of these picks to move up, even if it means including other Celtics.

Pretty sure if you got Rose + Butler, you have the same chemistry issues that exist on CHI right now.

If we send AB+IT+3 to the Bulls, who runs the point?  Smart?  Turner?  Can Eric Gordon run the point?

I mean:

?? / Rozier
Butler / Smart / Hunter
Crowder / ??
?? / Jerebko
Amir / Mickey

That's a weird line up with some serious holes, although it has potential.  Maybe Mickey will break out?

If we keep 16 open, we could draft one of Sabonis (PF), Zizic or Luwawu and I honestly feel those three have a chance of being as good as the 7-12 players.  Any of those would fill a hole for us as well as being BPA.

Picks 7 and 8 could be alot more valuable than say 3.  I think alot will have to do with what Danny and Brad saw during the work-outs.  But let's say Danny wants Hield and Murray. He did mention that Murray was a 1-2 and Hield was a 2-3. Both of those players seem to be projected 5-8 spots.
And Chriss at 7 or 8 would be a good opportunity to add some athleticism to the team.

A move for Butler likely would be costly, but interesting.
They would likely want the 3, AB and parts.  Perhaps we could give them some of the 2nd rounders and get back the 14 from them.

How about 3, 16, 23, 31 and 35 for 12 and Dante Exum (believe it or not, he could blossom into a better player than Butler in 2-3 years)? Use 12 on Poeltl or Sabonis if he is off the board. Package one of our second rounders with Young to rid ourselves of his contract. Use the rest on draft-and-stash Euros.

Disaster (stuck with a bunch of rookies and no roster space available) avoided! Exum and Poeltl (or Sabonis) can contribute on day one of the regular season. In fact, I would venture to say adding Exum could result in us having the best backcourt depth in the league. Imagine teams going from dealing with IT/Bradley to having to see their bench deal with Exum/Smart. Nice! Excites me as much as IT/Butler/Smart...

He doesn't strike me as the type. The offer for Winslow last year (the details of which are still a rumor) seems to be the exception, rather than the rule.

I do not believe Butler is worth AB +#3 nevermind adding any other assets. It's not like we have a legit center, which would be the most effective way at adding value to our team.

Durant was who I was rooting for to come here but bc of success in the playoffs I feel way less hopeful and therefore changed my expectations.

I wanted to trade for Cousins, say the #3 on draft night. Then we could keep most of our assets and if we signed Durant we would be the favorites IMO. And we could always sign Ibaka next year.

IT
AB
Durant
Ibaka
Cousins

Luwawu is very interesting and reminds me of a Kris Middleton type. He apparently is 6'7'' w/o shoes,7' wingspan,8'8'' standing reach. Can pass, play D, and very good 3-point shooter

His contract is nothing and is not holding us back from anything. IMO he still has value and the ability to make a leap.....he is not worth giving away so we should hang onto him imo

say what??!!  the #3 alone is worth far more than #12 and Exum.
