I would be fine with Hield as long is it meant moving some of our other "wings" for a big.

danny has lost it

Hield is in no way shape or form a 3 at the NBA level.  Just say he is a SG

Murray is a 2 with some 1 skills.  Murray is a better ball handler and has better vision than Hield

Hield has a better body now and longer wingspan

But again, he is no SF at the NBA level

Yep, all of this.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

It's a quote from Ainge, TB. Get over it.

Kid might be strong enough to handle the 2-3, but maybe not PG skilled enough for the 1 unlike Murry who started as a PG, but doesn't have the size to handle the 3.

Look at Smart, he's played 1-5 this year.  At least on the defensive end. :P

Yeah, it was very clearly Danny Ainge's quote. I have to agree with Ainge, in today's NBA, where  6'8 guys are 5s, 6'4 guys are 2-3s.

I mentioned right after te combine that I thought Hield would be able to guard some 3s and could be a 2/3 for the celtics. He will not be able to guard the average and above average starting SFs but 3-D starting SFs and most backup SFs shouldn't be a problem. It's funny he is actually very comparable in size to justice Winslow only .75" shortened 5lbs lighter and with a 1"smaller wingspan. Bazemore is another example of a comparable sized SF.

Not saying I want Hield at 3 but in a 6-9 trade down he would be a great pick.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

He means a 'wing' in that he's versatile enough to guard 3's when needed. Wade is 6'4" and guards SF's when needed because ofnhis strength and length.
Buddy Hield is very strong and weighs 97kg. Wade weighs 99kg. Derozan weighs 96kg and wiggins weights 93kg.
He's saying he can play some 3 if needed in certain small ball line ups.

Just like Murray is an SG who can play some point if needed like AB.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If Danny drafts Hield, I guess he doesn't hold out much hope for our other 2-3s in RJ and Young. While this shouldn't surprise most of us, I think we all hope that they are both making extraordinary strides behind the scenes.
Hunter and Young are best suited as SFs to take Turner's spot. Heild would be AB'S backup.
Celtics fans continue to underrate Turner.  He's going to get a huge contract.  Those other two probably aren't even NBA players.

Hield and Turner would play well together.

Hield has a wingspan of 6'9, he can easily play the 3 in spurts.

I have said from day 1 that if we keep the 3rd pick that Hield is our guy, to compare Hield to JJ or Fredette is insane, both have been spot up shooters for their entire careers. Hield plays like CJ McCollum or Harden and his work ethic is Kobe like so I can still see him improving for many years to come. I think a Smart/Hield backcourt would compliment each other perfectly.

Hield , Smart are not 3's and it's like Danny and CBS are trying to re invent the wheel or something

Like aha,  lets have our unique SG that is strong, long long wingspan go against your SF (6'7 and taller and these days usually around 6'eight)  and we can beat you

Well... no  you can't

Just stick to "normal" or better yet do what the OkC has done and just be taller at every position than everyone else.

when was the last time you have seen a team of "munchkins" get anywhere??   (excluding Dumars and Thomas, who were both special players plus the rest of the lineup was big)

I just don't want Danny to think about drafting Hield and playing him as a 3

Don't try to be "special" this way

??? Draymond is 6'7, Hield is 6'5.5.

Heild is nearly big enough to play small ball 5 spot. Calm down.

Im thinking you're probably joking, but the whole point with Draymond is that height doesn't tell you all you need to know about what a player can do.
