From what I read, he seems like the 2-guard equivalent to Marquess Chriss. Both are athletic specimen with a good shooting stroke, and a solid offensive repertoire. They're both freshmen, so they're incredibly young. Both share the same weaknesses as well; their complete lack of defensive fundamentals and average physical build.

Why is Chriss projected to go top 5 and Beasley is projected to be at the bottom of the first round? Am I missing something?
If Malik falls that late, he has just as much upside as anyone in the lottery.

Just read  that he's skipping workouts due to a stress fracture, so that explains the stock drop.

Still would take him between 10-20

I think the biggest reason is height. A guy Chriss's size with those skills and athleticism is much more rare than a 6'5 guy with those skills and athleticism.

Height, team role and team success is my guess. Think he is 6'3. He had issues being the guy when his team tried to go through him. He seemed to excel only in the Robin role. But I don't blame him he is a team first guy. Could see him as a long time 6 man in the NBA.
