Forget trading. Build through the draft

If cost is equal, Butler, but I'd like to compare what it would actually take to get them.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

One thing to keep in mind:

Love averages:

In 2013-2014 with MINN: 26 pts /12.5 Reb a game with 25% of shots 3 pointers.

In 2015-2016 with CLE:   16 pts/9.9 reb a game, with 50% of shots 3 pointers

Some times it's more about the system than the player.

Bulter would draw better players

Butler, Smart, and Crowder would be fun. Bring in Dwight and Durant and let's win some more titles.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Surprised nobody wants Love more. I agree Butler>Love, but a year or two ago this poll would've gone the opposite way. I still think that Love would be great on this team; I think we could hide him on defense and we could use him way more effectively on offense.

That would be one of the best defenses of all time.

If they'd take a mid round pick, well then sure. But not the number 3 pick.

Butler.

Better contract, better fit.

That's a difficult question.

Butler is definitely the better overall and two-way player, but Love fills MUCH more of a need for us. Love will also come much cheap assets-wise than Butler, so it's difficult to give a real answer to this.
Butler is easier to build around, not sure he's better than Love if you build around Love though. Love certainly had a higher peak before he was relegated to 3rd banana status in Cleveland.

I'd be happy with either, though the trade specifics would matter a lot since I value them similarly.

If all it takes here is #3, KO, & AB, then I'm on board.

I would not be, at all.  That's a gross overpay for Butler.
