Let's say we are unable to pull off a trade for an all-star and we are unable to woo Durant and Howard. In an attempt to repursue Durant and another all-star next offseason, we stick to minor adjustments saving significant cap space in the process since we have calculated next offseason will see many fewer teams with significant cap space, which will limit competition for max players. How would you feel about the following moves:

3. Bender
11. Poeltl (In exchange for 16, 23, 31, 35)
45. Draft-and-stash
51. Draft-and-stash
58. Draft-and-stash

Take the option on Johnson and Jerebko. Re-sign Turner to a 3-year team discount. Qualifying offer on Zeller.

1. Thomas/Smart/Rozier
2. Bradley/Smart/Hunter
3. Crowder/Turner/Young
4. Johnson/Jerebko/Bender/Mickey
5. Olynyk/Poeltl/Zeller

Additions: Bender and Poeltl
Subtractions: Sullinger and Holland

I'm pretty much expecting no major trade or signing.  No other way to feel but fine.

I am 50-50 on whether we are forced to go with the above or are fortunate enough to make a splash. I will feel fine either way. Only thing I am afraid of is being stuck with eight draft selections. We gotta move up into the bottom of the lottery.

I think the above can get us into the second round and give us an exceptional positioning next offseason, particularly if the Nets suck.

I would still cheer like Crazy..
I would be hopeful that Bender Would turn into a True corner stone piece that we can build around for the next 12-15 Years.. Currently we don't have anything close to that.. (well Maybe Smart)

No John Holland? Dang...

Lol. Seriously though, id still be pretty disappointed.  I feel that this summer is our best chance to take that NEXT step. I'm not feeling mid 40 wins and a ECF-less season again.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Rough draft. All those picks and you only come out with two players.

I wouldn't be thrilled. I'm not averse to drafting #3 overall but I wish we could do something with those 7 other picks.

I would be very happy with that outcome with a few tweeks. The loss of sully and injury status to KO would make me very leery of that big man rotation repeating this past seasons sucess. I would rather see young included in a draft day trade and his roster spot spent on another stop gap big man I case KO is not ready to start the season. Maybe a massive over pay 1+1 I Marvin Williams or iilyasova. Aside from that and insisting turners deal be really team friendly (less then 10 per) I like this offseason. The draft netting two potential two way starters is huge. If both bender and Poeltl hit 85% of their potential the Cs will have an elite defensive front court in 2-3 years.

Wouldn't be surprised if another GM is on the phone at 12:01am on July 1 with an offer to Turner that he couldn't refuse.

Otherwise, what you propose sounds realistic. I'm also not certain Zeller wants to be back given the minutes he played this year.

This has Been my prediction all along. I don't see any big splash in FA. I do see a FA signing but nothing that equals the big time Durant status signings. We should keep our high picks #3(Bender) #16(Luwawu) #23 (Thon Maker), trade a few 2nd rounders for players or for future picks. Danny might just put the same team on the court again but with just a few tweeks (letting Sully walk). I can see a Ryan Anderson signing if all else fails with Durant. Which wouldn't be a total failure but not what everyone expected.

Or Danny could go berserk and trade every asset we got for Kevin Love lol

I am all for getting rid of Sully, but if this is route Ainge, takes he will be unemployed in a few years.

I am ok with taking the draft picks, it may happen as Ainge has a reputation of burning guys that he trades with.

I have said it ad nauseum, but if Bender could not get meaningful time in Israel how do you think that he will get it here?   Good players generally play.   Are you saying that is a better league?   The lack of production is pretty bad.

Here are players ranked by analytics, guess who did not do well enough to make  this list?

Love is not worth all our assets.   CLE needs players not picks.   Could some of our players help them, of course but I am sure other teams have better offers.   Love would help our offense but worsen our defense.

It would be a squandered opportunity and represent a bit of a shift in the market. I'd be frustrated. In particular if they draft another pg and create a huge log jam and we have nothing in the front court.

In that case I hope they would at least try playing RJ and Marcus at sf in some situations

I'd be disappointed if Danny went into next season without making a move to either get a top prospect via trade or a good player via free agency.  He's got a load of assets to make it happen.

If your scenario is what plays out, I'd be even more p---ed off.  Bender is a risky pick IMHO and if he expended those 4 picks to just move up 5 slots to get Poeltl I'd really question having him involved in draft pick deals (outgoing at least).  no way it should/would take all 4 to move up from 16 to 11 and I don't see Poeltl as that great a talent to justify that move.
