Im praying we trade Bradley while his value is high. I dont see an elite team with him at SG unless we sign Durant to play alongside him.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Guess I'm hoping for the best of both worlds. I read a suggestion that the Celtics trade #3 to Wolves for #5 & Dieng. While I don't know that that could happen, I wouldn't mind them trading down within say top 7 and picking up a decent Player to go along with it. I must admit, I really enjoy watching rookies with potential play. I liked watching Rozier in the playoffs, for example,  and I think there is a chance anyone drafted top 7-8 could be a really good player.

Yeah, if we could get a very good player and still make a pick in the top 8, I would be pretty happy with that. I thought by now that players would have better solidified themselves in the draft, but instead a couple of added themselves to the mix (like Chriss).

I am sure Danny/Stevens have a better idea than we do and may just be throwing smokescreens out there to confuse teams/media, but usually we would know the difference between the 3rd pick and the 9th pick at this point.

Ultimately, I agree (and probably everyone else does too) that Avery is best suited to play point guard alongside either a two or a three who takes on the majority of the ball handling duties.  That is; offensively: shooting guard, defensively: point guard.

He'd be perfect for the Milwaukee Bucks, with their Giannis as point forward experiment.  Avery + picks for Jabari Parker?

I think they take Bender.  They won 48 games - all they need to do is sign a upper-tier free agent and they are a +50 win team, with a possible stud rookie soaking it all in.

Then if somehow Hield drops below 10, try like hell to move up and get him.

I like the combo of Isaiah, Smart and Bradley.  I think those guys are good.  So is Rozier.  I could see us trading Bradley for a superstar.  I don't want to trade Smart either.  I think he's going to be really good in a bit.

Smart is shorter than a guy like Butler but doesn't get enough credit imo even though it's a lot.  I think his combination is going to make a star guard in this league.  I love his defense.

These  young guys are going to take a bit, but why not get a guy to pair with Smart in a few years.  I get we can't just keep  building and need stars now, but I keep that down the road and get stars now.

We are set at guard barring some unforeseen trade.

I really like Bradley....his game and his attitude/personality...Dude is top notch and I wouldn't want to deal him unless absolutely necessary....Plus what from I've read--he is Good friends with Durant (same college)...and he might be one of the guys whispering in KD's ear about Boston.

Smart is a stud player in the making.  Do not trade.  I also think people get on Sully too much but that's beside the point.

I'd love that, but I feel like the Bucks need more of an immediate return if they're trading Jabari.  Maybe throw in Olynyk.

Avery and #3 for Parker? Man, that's a good question. After seeing Chriss' highlights video, though, it makes me question, even with Parker's Melo-esque potential.

I wasn't thinking this year's three.  More like two later first rounders or some future picks.

I agree with you.  I can see Marcus being the best player in a quite a few playoff games before his career is done.

Unbelievable how all over the board we are as fans.  Anyone of five guys at #3 (Dunn, Chris, Murray, Brown, and Bender).  After the second pick, this draft falls off the cliff.

I think Danny puts a lot of stock in work outs at the team facility.  Kelly shot up in his view based on his 3 point shooting prowess in his team work out. Smart apparently was awful his first time, but they brought him back a 2nd time and he was great. Remember that Rondo just blew them away the year he got drafted.  Whoever separates themselves the most in workout is the guy most likely to get picked.  I am somewhat over-simplifying here, but it is a very important factor.   And it has little to do with what Danny or Austin say about how the work out went. That is a lot of BS, we all know it. It is something we won't learn until after the draft. The cool thing is that, with the 3rd pick, they will have their choice of every guy who has come in to work out (or not, Kris Dunn). Simmons and Ingram are not coming in, and they will be off the books anyway.

I just cant wait for the draft to be over and the 8 bazillion threads about who we are going to pick will end so that the 8 bazillion threads complaining about the players we obtained on draft day will begin.
