Agree that Sac isn't interested, but Cousins, Kyrie and Lebron is nigh unbeatable. Cousins puts this Cleveland team so far over the top. Shaq and Kobe revisited.
Kevin Love has looked visibly frustrated multiple times since going to Cleveland with Lebron - has even publically talked about the frustrations of playing with him.
Many reports claim Kyrie and Lebron don't get along well.
Bosh made similar comments to love (about the challenge of playing with Lebron) after LBJ left Miami.
If playing with Lebron is as frustrating as it sounds, then I'm not sure that's a good atmosphere for a guy like Cousins. I think he needs to go somewhere like Boston or San Antonio - place where there is a strong culture and firm (but supportive) leadership.
I'm not sure I see Love working well in Sacramento either, for the same reasons. He couldn't handle being in a losing situation in Minnesota, to the point where he forced a trade. Has expressed frustration in Cleveland. He's obviously a very vocal guy who needs to be in a relatively stable and successful place to feel content. I think Sacramento would be a disaster.
Sacramento needs guys like Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, etc. High character guys who are hard working, highly coachable, and who will try their best no matter what jersey they are wearing. Hopefully that would then rub off on to some of the other guys on the team, and maybe (just maybe) you could slowly turn the culture around.
I think Sacramento needs to look at drafting a high character rookie like Hield, Dunn,, Murray, Brown or Poeltl. Someone who will come in with their head in the right place. Then add a couple of quality, high intangible veterans to the mix. From there try to bring in a quality coach - doesn't have to be somebody with an all time great win record, just somebody who has univeral respect around the league and who is highly likable. Trying to pull in Jerry Sloan would be fantastic.
If I were them I wouldn't worry about hitting a home run right now and getting star players - I'd just focus on getting the team chemistry on point and building a positive culture Once you do that you can potentially making quality players want to join you.
Bring in a respected coach and some "high intangibles" support players, and I seriously think you can turn that culture around - and even get Demarcus Cousins in line. I genuinely believe that Cousins would turn his attitude around in a huge way if he felt like he had other guys on the team who were really taking things seriously.
