We got our guys doing work lol.  I never realized Wahlberg and Butler are such good friends.  Search it.  They are like best friends.
It's actually funny that Wahlberg tried to convince Butler to join our team back in 2015  ;D. Eventually he ended up extending with the Bulls.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Isaiah was also recruiting Horford at the allstar game.  Durant has gone on record saying the most important thing to him is stability.    There's just a lot there reading between the lines if you really listen.

Plus  from a basketball sense they fit together.  Durant misses harden and was upset at Roberson for not shooting the ball in the conference finals.  They did well when their supporting cast did.  They faultered when they didn't. Bradley is better than Roberson and will take those shots but from a talent perspective it would more take a team like Love and Cousins down low to be successful imo.

Having Horford, Butler and Durant is a good mix to go with Isaiah who is a lesser ballhog than Westbrook.

Plus moving Crowder to and having Smart off the bench and Amir and Turner plus guys like Rj and Mickey makes for a championship roster.

Ainge drafted KO.  He isn't a star but is a good 5th wheel in that situation. Sully is a good rebounder too.

It works. It might not happen but no doubt it works and the celtics are pulling the strings here.

When Rondo was here we tried to get KLove but he went to Cleveland. We ended up moving him and going with Isaiah and Smart.  The same thing will happen with Isaiah eventually once he gets to the end of his deal unless we make moves to keep him.  We'd build with Smart and whoever we are drafting but this is what the celtics do.

If Isaiah is any indication..... It all adds up.  We have room for 2 max players this summer.  We have room to offer what the bulls seek.  It depends if the bulls bite though.

I seriously listened to Durant saying the most important thing to him was stability and then listened to Ainge and Stevens say the word stability about a million times at  their press conference.  It was quite funny.

It's no done deal but they are trying.

Let's trade the best shooter on the team for a better version of MSmart?

Smell the coffee!

Yes, Butler would be an upgrade but not at the expense of AB.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but Jimmy Butler is really good.  He might not be as good as he's hyped but he's probably the Bulls franchise player right now even over Rose. The Bulls more than likely aren't going to trade him for AB and a pick and a few throw ins for that reason.

AB is a very good player too but he's underrated and not a franchise type player like Butler is to the bulls.  He's underrated though.

I'd love to keep Bradley and build through the draft and get a star too but how to do that is the question.

AB is like Edelman though.  He's underrated good.

I think everyone here realizes this, I can't imagine we'd be thinking about adding him if he weren't

for those who can't see the article:
Butler for AB, Rozier, Jonas, #3 and #16

seems a bit steep.  maybe #23 for #16 instead.

Holy crap :o.  Forget the players - those two picks, alone, are way too much for Butler, in my view, especially #3.  Wow.  That's highway robbery, right there.

In terms of current impact players, it's AB for Butler (JJ is easily replaced and TR is not yet impactful). Easily makes Boston a better team right away, though knocks  the C's down another peg in terms of 3-point shooting and future assets.  Make the trade if it's the first step in a doable plan for an additional star.

It's a launching pad, but not quite fireworks.

Sure, I get that, and I like Butler, but I don't think we should trade for him.  What he would give us, though, as opposed to, well, anybody that we currently have, is a wing who can get to the line and post up, two things which are much harder to find, let alone in one player, than 3 point shooting, not to mention his defense and passing skills (he's underrated in that respect, imo).  I just think that it's too much of a risk to trade for some guy on the off-chance that that might lure another dude, Durant, who isn't coming here, and I don't want him, anyway, not that that means anything, though, lol ;D.

Is he though?  Again, let me bring up the very important point that he lead his team to the 9th best record in the Easter Conference.  A team with Rose, Gasol, Mirotic, and Gibson.  If he was really good as stated above, shouldn't that team make the playoffs?

I don't think Butler is a top 5 or maybe even a top 10 player, but there are some mitigating circumstances.

Gibson and Mirotic really aren't better, at this point in their careers, than anybody on the Celtics.
The Bulls started Tony Snell 33 games and E'Twaun Moore 22 games this past season.
Hoiberg was brought in to juice up the offense and Chicago ranked in the bottom third of the league.

If Butler can get back to defending like he did two seasons ago, you really want that guy.  The meh-defending Butler of this past season is more of a gamble.

Only if you're [dang] sure it's what Kevin Durant wants. Then, absolutely.
As I said in other threads, I agree with that premise... if that's what Durant wants, I'd do it.  But I would trade the #3 pick, Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder to the Lakers for a moldy chicken nugget if that's what it took to get Durant to Boston.

I don't see any sense in trading for players that are supposedly wanted by KD. Who says he wants them (Butler) and who says he cares for players traded to Boston. It was based on a rumor and now suddenly we plan all our potential signings and trades according to so called KD's player's wish-list, which nobody saw. C'mon people! I don't say we should stop dreamin, but let's just try to consider some options that DO NOT INCLUDE DURANT, for a change.

This is like the people who were upset when we traded for Ray Allen...of COURSE there would be another shoe to drop...You wouldn't trade for Butler and then stop--You would be WAY more attractive to Free Agents such as Durant and Horford.

Deal One of Bradley/Crowder/Smart,along with Amir(money match)Pick #3/#16/2nd rounders,for Butler.

If you had IT and Butler after draft night was over--You'd still have the ability to sign 2 Max Free Agents, and go from there.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.
