Adding Butler without giving up Crowder or any Nets picks after this year... Sounds great.

Still leaves us with max cap space and a really great situation to pitch for free agents.
I kinda agree with this, but after this trade I'd be shopping IT to get back in at 5 if Dunn is still available. Grab Dunn at 5. Sign Ezeli for 13 M.
PG: Kris Dunn
SG: Jimmy Butler
SF: Jae Crowder
PF: Amir Johnson
C: Festus Ezeli
That backcourt would be sooo nasty!! Add a front court player at either SF, PF, or C in next year's draft and then we should be ready to take that next step. I don't like the value of the Butler trade because I really like Dunn, but when we look back on this and realize what we stole in Jimmy Butler we will be fine. Especially considering the effect he will have on FA.

IF you're trading 3 for Butler, you're not going to trade IT for a top 5 pick, you're keeping IT. Plus Suns and Wolves have the next two picks, and have no need for IT, and would just take Dunn if they really wanted a PG.

Guys, Jimmy Butler is NOT GETTING TRADED. I don't know how many times I've said that. He is the Bulls center piece. They r not trading him. Not even for the #1 pick. Danny Ainge is not trading out of #3. He will make the pick. The Celtics are not trading the #3 pick. They will keep the pick. There is not a player out there worth all that in a trade. Not even Lebron James.

Again: THE BOSTON CELTICS ARE NOT TRADING OUT OF THE #3 PICK. Stop posting these dumb rumors. Please. Thank you...

You said a couple of dumb things in this post. Any Gm that doesn't trade Butler for Ben Simmons will be fired.

You wouldn't trade #3 for Lebron James??  Step into my office PAULP. Your fired!!!

Lol, I didn't say I wouldn't trade #3 for Lebron James. I said that trade fantasy offer is not worth It. Not even for Lebron James.

You make it sound like Lebron is on Butler's level.

He's not but at the age Lebron is now I still wouldn't pull that trigger. If we were talking 8 years ago that would be a different story. The team should go with youth n build a championship team built for a decade not a 3 year window we'd have to pull off another trade to get back to where we are now.

I know the Bulls said no one is untouchable and that's why Butler rumors started popping up, but does anyone know another reason why they would trade him?

I don't think he gets along with Rose, but I'd rather trade Rose for Noel or something.

for those who can't see the article:
Butler for AB, Rozier, Jonas, #3 and #16

seems a bit steep.  maybe #23 for #16 instead.

Holy crap :o.  Forget the players - those two picks, alone, are way too much for Butler, in my view, especially #3.  Wow.  That's highway robbery, right there.

Does this mean you value Crowder more than the number 3?  For me #3 > Crowder.  But I do really like Crowder and to lose him would suck for sure...

It means I think the Bulls will expect some current impact players in return for butler, so it'd be really good to get him without giving up Crowder, Thomas, or Amir -- the top three players currently on the team.  I assume the number three would be a part of it regardless.

Butler and Crowder would be quite a wing combination.

Find a way to add a two way player at the four and you'd have a pretty nice starting lineup with Thomas, Butler, Crowder, and Amir.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

It's an overpay.  But I could probably live with that trade, if that paved the way to bring a 3rd star to Boston.

I would like to see the Bulls give something else in return with Butler though.  Maybe a young prospect like Portis in return or maybe their 2018 1st rounder.

If we add  Horford and Butler plus Durant to Isaiah and keep Smart, KO and Crowder off the bench that's a very good team.

Isaiah
Butler
Durant
??
Horford

Smart
KO
Crowder

Something is missing there.  We'd resign  Sully or start Durant and  Crowder and have picks the next couple years to add to that.

I feel like we are selling ourselves short though if it's not equalling Horford and Durant though and even then something is still missing.

In terms of current impact players, it's AB for Butler (JJ is easily replaced and TR is not yet impactful). Easily makes Boston a better team right away, though knocks  the C's down another peg in terms of 3-point shooting and future assets.  Make the trade if it's the first step in a doable plan for an additional star.

It's a launching pad, but not quite fireworks.

It's about getting the right players ultimately.  It depends on how you see a guy like Butler vs Brown or Bradley.  Or Durant vs Chriss or Bender for that matter.  Or whether  Ainge knows something we don't and whether we really have a shot at Durant or not.

Value is somewhat relative there.  If we have to overpay for Butler to get the ball rolling it makes some sense.

There are only so many roster spots in the nba.  We aren't going to draft 8 players.

I agree Bleacherreport sucks though.

I love AB.  But he was hurt.  We really could have used someone there.  Brown is really good but Butler basically already is that.  I make this trade I think with some hesitations.  It obviously has to mean Durant and Horford are coming here.  Or someone equal to Horford.

We keep Smart, KO, Crowder etc...

I don't agree to many trades but two sides of the spectrum. Keep building or do something like this.
