Durant is coming here.

He just said something along the lines of "he doesn't know and he loves his teammates and playing there but coaching and a good environment is what is important.  Boston might play me differently, or even a team like Golden State or Philly. "

Where are you getting this from?

They just played that on Felger and Mazz. The second clip I don't know if they were messing around and took a clip from him talking about how teams would play him though.  They were laughing about it and said at least we know he's coming east since he only mentioned golden state as the only west team.

He definately said "Boston may play me differently or even Golden State or Philly."  That was the direct quote and it was him talking.

Was it them joking around? I have no idea. That's pretty messed up though if they were.

The first part was definately him talking about free agency.

Everyone keeps saying that he'll make the most money and have a great shot of winning a title if he stays in OKC. What if he doesn't want to live in a 3rd class city that is OKC or what if he doesn't want to play with Westbrook anymore? His brand and endorsements could sky rocket if he goes to a larger market. Let's be honest, although that city gets good crowds (and why shouldn't they with that team), they really shouldn't have a professional sports team. It's seriously ridiculous that the dump of a city has a team and Seattle does not.

What if he actually likes OKC, and playing with Westbrook?

Eh, I think Durant is a smart guy and knows that Westbrook isn't an ideal part of a supporting cast for him. A team like Boston could very well use Durant to take much more advantage of his abilities.

Granted, with that being said, he still might "like" playing with Westbrook due to them being close friends, and that could actually make him stay. Though I still don't see Westbrook staying in OKC long term. He has LA written all over him.

I agree.

"Just being around great people, being in a great basketball environment – that’s the two most important things for me. That’s all I really care about – who I’m going to be doing life with every single day, who I’m going to be playing basketball with every day."

That's the direct quote of the first part.  Then they played a clip of him saying "Boston may play me differently. Or even Golden State or Philly"

Link? I hadn't heard that before.

The first quote comes directly from his exit interview.

The second clip could be Durant discussing how other teams play defend him. Two clueless radio jamokes stirring the pot, no doubt.

Yeah I don't know.  It was odd I thought too. The first quote they played sounded different as well. I thought he said something about coaching.  I just googled that quote.

He also mentioned miami as one of the teams.  It was weird.  I get they may have been joking and he was talking about how a team would defend him, but odd there is a clip of him saying that including those teams.

Also odd I'm watching the DA and Brad press conference and they keep talking about great people and having an environment where they are all committed to each other for a long time.

Felger and Mazz were just panning this signing beforehand saying they don't understand why and it's probably to keep Brad from going back to college, but who knows.

C's just seem like they are committed long term.

I think Danny has said about 10 times, continuity and being in this for the long haul.  Great people.  Great people. Great people.  Now their talking about their new practice facility.  In tune, in step and rock solid.   We've signed players long term etc..

I wonder if they told KD to watch this.

Danny "I think it's important for people to know we are all in this together, and we're in it for the long haul"

lol...

Danny - "There are no distractions here"

Danny -  "I've seen other organizatins where there is a lot of pressure.  Here there is none of that".

"I think it's important for players to be able to see this stability"

He should talk to KG. Garnett openly stated he regrets not coming to Boston earlier, that he could have won a few more rings while his body was healthier. Durant has to think about that. He's not getting any younger , and he did have some long term injury issues with his foot lately.

That was tough to read.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Here's a good piece on KD's mindset coming after this season. He certainly does sound like he will seriously shop around at options. It's far from a certainty that he returns to OKC this summer.

EDIT: This is where that quote was taken from, too - "When asked about what he's seeking in free agency, he added: "Just being around great people, being in a great basketball environment—that's the two most important things for me." Boston sure does seem to fit that bill. It's going to be really important to nail that meeting with him this summer in early July.

I think theres zero chance he signs with Golden State. He'd look like a complete pud if he did that. San Antonio, Houston and Boston are my guesses on the off chance he leaves the Thunder.

Why would he want to go to Houston?

I don't know where KD and the other FAs are going, but the extensions Ainge and Stevens got today certainly helps the Celtics in recruiting name players.
