LeBron James passed Larry Bird tonight.  Bumped him out of the top 5.

Next he'll pass Russell, Kareem, and Magic, and only Jordan will be left.

Puts an end to any talk of Kobe being better tho

Kobe who?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I just wish Lebron's teammates would stop winning him championships - Ray Allen and now Kyrie. It's not that Lebron doesn't play extremely well throughout each series, he just disappears when it counts most and his teammates have to bail him out.

We could easily be talking about a 1-6 record for Lebron if he were taking those shots.

And, yes, I am a total hater.   :P

Yeah, I'm a hater too, but LeBron won that game tonight.  Irving showed up in the second half, but LeBron was there from the tip.

I heard someone is writing an alternate history novel about how in the mid 80s Larry Bird, Magic, and Isaiah Thomas teamed up and all went to Miami together and won two whole titles. After that they were referred to as "greatest ever" and "basketball gods."

Barnes is terrible.

Someone is going to give him the max.
And if we find out it's about to be the Celtics we need to kidnap Danny Ainge and drive him to a secure location where we tie him to a chair, turn on "Stuck in the Middle with you", pull out a straight edge razor, start dancing, and talk it over with him till he comes to his senses.  (sarcasm/satire)

Lol, TP for the incredibly specific plan ;D.

If LeBron ever secures his 6th ring, I think he gets to #1, regardless of all of the Hatorade consumed by middle aged white guys who think that Bird and McHale should be #1 and 2. Might be best basketball player ever and many people seem to not like him.

Bottom line: Lebron needs to get 3 more to chase Jordan. Not sure if Russell's NBA had the same level of talent across 30 teams.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Yeah, a triple double in Game 7, with 11 points in the 4th, isn't disappearing.  By that standard, Jordan disappeared because Paxson and Kerr hit series defining shots.

Now, Steph Curry, that's disappearing.

Bandwagoning Cleveland in these playoffs was fun, but let's be serious for a moment

Bill Russell  > LBJ

I do not care if Lebron wins ten more titles.

Yes. They teamed up on the Lakers. Then Bird went to the Pacers and won a title in his hometown, Magic went to Detroit and won one for his hometown, and Isaiah went to Hell and won one for his dad.

Just like Orlando Bloom's marriage, Golden State's season ultimately went Kerr-plunk, lol ;) ::) ;D.

I double checked and searched the internet and could find no evidence that Lebron passed Larry Bird in a hallway or on the freeway tonight. It seems discussion of Bron passing Bird is just speculative rumor.

Yeah and Shaq, Timmy and Kobe got bailed by Robert Horry.

And the glare from Russell's 11 championship rings blinded all of them.
