A lot of people in this thread whining about the refs. I think they're doing an excellent job and have let both sides off. A physical game helps the Cavs but it hasn't been one sided at all.
If anyone claims that this is a one sided game (officiating wise) it's because you either:
1) Hate Lebron
2) Love GSW and really want them to win
3) both of the above.
Please be reasonable.
Why are you generalizing?
No generalizing in my statement, it's the truth.
Any open minded viewer understands this is a physical game, but a it's being called both ways.
The thing is that 3 of the fouls on Curry were really slight, if no contact at all. And that's not how he rest of the game has been called. At all.
I don't agree. In the moment during the game, it clearly looked like a reach on Irving- there was plenty of contact to make that call in the heat of the moment.
The foul on Lebron he first grabbed his arm, then ran in front of him and initiated contact with the offensive player who has right of way. I reffed for 4 years and they're pretty simple calls to make. The first one was, so so- but as I said to Potter, they've let them go when Irving should have gotten multiple calls.
The point is, Tristan Thompson was chucking people underneath the hoop. That was let go all night, but they call a couple of reach ins like that. There was, as you said, a lot of contact. Three slight calls on Curry completely alters the game.
That's a typical Scott Foster game for you. Get one team angry because they have no idea what a foul is.
I just don't think that the Curry fouls were neccessarily 'soft'. They were relatively easy calls to make during the game.
Contact under the basket and in rebounding contests is always going to be tougher to call-especially in a physical game.
I was surprised Curry didnt get one when he stuck his leg out-but it was the correct non call even if Kerr lost his mind.
I just think the Warriors have had their share of calls and people are a bit upset that this is going to 7 games.
The amount of crap that Green and Verajao get away is never talked about-but when Thompson has a better game and out rebounds them it's a travesty. They let it go both ways and I think they've done a good job for the most part.
The Warriors are injury riddled and the Cavs probably wouldn't be in this series if not for Curry, Bogut and Iggy all suffering.
That's the reason the Cavs are in this, not the refs.
