In a draft that is widely considered a two-man draft, this is interesting. I think this affirms the suspicion of Philly being a trade candidate for our third pick, or possibly even a trade-down scenario. Hopefully one of those guys impresses in workouts for them, making our pick much more valuable, especially since Simmons isn't a no-brainier for them with their logjam in the front court.

100% it's because they're looking to trade Okafor / Noel for another top 5 pick.

Also probably just covering their bases in case they get some out-of-the-blue red flag on Simmons AND Ingram.

Yep, I agree, especially when that range is guard-heavy and that's their weakest area by far.

Imo, it is also their duty to actually work out the top 5 guys and decide for themselves who is worth taking at #1 instead of going by expert opinions or consensus. If they miss on the pick, like taking Oden over Durant or Bowie over Jordan, they can't blame consensus expert opinions , it's on them, so they may as well check out these guys themselves.

yea, I mean who knows, maybe a workout can change their minds and a few interviews. I mean weren't a lot of people surprised when the Lakers took Russell at number 2 last year over Okafor?

If one of those kids destroyed their workouts and interview, they may get picked first over the consensus top two pick, and who knows that may even open up SImmons/Ingram for us or allow us to trade #3 for one of their guys, or even do a 3-way trade who covet Ingram and Simmons

I'll take Noel not for #3 though and don't really want Okafur

What are the chances Ingram or Simmons workout for the Celtics?
I mean if the Sixers are considering other guys,  and some reports say Bender is a good fit for Lakers...

I'd go with 0%. There's no reason for those two to workout for anyone but Philly and LA.

I asked the question on another thread, but could the Sixers take Dunn #1 overall?  They have a plethora of big men in Embid, Noel, and Okafor.  They also have Saric, Landry, and Grant as other forwards.  It seems their missing piece is a PG and experience.  I say they take Dunn and keep Okafor and his one year now and not set them selves back again.

NO question the Sixers Can Ruminate Unfettered & Boldly over the enormous potential of Dragan Bender with the first pick.

None whatsoever.

This is probably just due diligence. You can't only work out two guys. There's a big fat 0% chance Philly is trading down. Moving Okafor? Maybe. Hopefully.

I think this is a non-story though

Simmons because he seems arrogant. But I could see Ingram working out for us. It's due diligence for the players as well and it might put some pressure on LA or Philly to secure him
