For the purposes of this thread, let's limit it to home games that you've either attended or watched on TV. I'll mention a few that stick out to me, and feel free to comment on those and mention some others.

1. "Beat LA" - best chant in sports.

2. "New York Knicks" - Game 6 of the second round against the Cavs in 2010 when Boston was in the process of eliminating the Cavs and LeBron's impending decision was a major headline. Hilarious chant.

3. "Wifebeater" - Chanted at Jason Kidd in the '02 and '03 playoffs. It ultimately backfired, as the Nets won both series, but still a great (and justifiable) dig at a rival.

4. "Larry" - Obviously chanted in appreciation for Bird. Thought it was hilarious during a game in the early 90's when a bird flew into the arena, and the crowd did that chant.

The "Let's Go Celtics" chant at the end of 2012 ECF Game 6 still gets me
I'm bitter.

Not really a chant but...

Back in those two Pacer playoff series in the mid-2000s, the crowd used to count out how long it would take Jermaine O'Neal to get off a free throw.  Always thought that was good.

Good call - totally forgot that one. Hysterical.

Good one. Hearing that chant and seeing the Big 3 on the bench at the end of that game, I was convinced that we'd win Game 7 in Miami.

Lucky enough to be in the building for Game 6 in 2008.

I thought it was pretty awesome when the crowd started chanting "Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" when the C's were up like 30 in the 4th (starts about the 3:15 mark in the video below):

Then later when Stern presented the trophy and the crowd started booing him that was pretty cool, but cooler still was when Doc said we won with defense, and the crowd started chanting "DE-FENSE" (about 5:31 below):

Being in the building and hearing how loud those chants got was pretty awesome.  Love how loud it came through on the broadcast too.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

  • That's turrible
Hearing the crowd chant "Let's Go Celtics" as the 2014-2015 team got swept by Cleveland. To me, that represents a turning point where the city was ready to move on from Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce and get behind this new era of amazing hustle and defense from guys like IT, Smart, Crowder, etc. I have no doubt that next year, they will get the same ovation when they get to the next round...and they will!

The "Ugly Sister" chant Celtics fans gave Lamar Odom in 2010 was one of my favorites.  It's a bit harsh, but it made me laugh.  I think it made him miss some free throws too.

Beat LA from the 80's in the Old Garden was deafening.

Bullsh*t --when the referee makes a crappy call.  One of my all-time favorites and can be used in any arena in the NBA.
