Careful I got torched a few weeks ago for thinking sabonis would be awesome as the first big off the bench somewhere in his prime. Other than that, great list, basically what I feel are the strengths and weaknesses. I guess im a tid bit higher on maker, but he is a throw in the dark. TP

I have both going post lottery, I think that is going to be a wide open tier in this draft.

Wow...great stuff.

I keep going back between Bender and Murray. I'm so confused.

Thanks I personally think as long as he wows in workouts the Cs have to take the gamble on bender. A dynamic PF could change this teams path. If he is the player scouts say he is Smart and Bender could form a dynamic versatile defensive tandem. I have my doubts that Murray will be a viable defensive player he looks to me like a smaller harden. No doubt he will score points but will he play wining basketball?

Good stuff, man. I personally think Ingram and Simmons are on a tier of their own, but as for overall ceiling I would have to say Bender is right there with them. Don't forget that Simmons is a year older than both.

I found this interesting DA is giving Brad 6-8 guys to focus on for the 3rd pick, my tier 3+4 equal 7 players. Based on my tiers I would guess labbissiere or Chriss as the 8th guy based on upside.

Cool idea.  I personally would not put Bender in a tier of his own.. if anything I'd leave Tier 3 blank b/c there's likely a big dropoff (at this point) after Ingram.  TP for actually separating Simmons and Ingram by a tier instead of lumping them together... I couldn't agree more!

I found this interesting DA is giving Brad 6-8 guys to focus on for the 3rd pick, my tier 3+4 equal 7 players. Based on my tiers I would guess labbissiere or Chriss as the 8th guy based on upside.

Jay King offers these possible names in that article:

The list of seven or eight potential No. 3 picks could include: Dragan Bender, Kris Dunn, Jamal Murray, Jaylen Brown, Buddy Hield, Skal Labissiere, Deyonta Davis and/or Marquese Chriss. Ainge also likely wants Stevens to take a look at Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram just in case either of those players fall (or the Celtics somehow trade up, which seems improbable).

Including Davis, Skal and Chriss in consideration for the #3 would seem to be a bit of a reach based on some of the more popular 'mocks' that are out there.  But all three have the physical upside to possibly impress their way up draft boards in workouts.

We also know that, given how the Rozier pick worked out, Danny isn't afraid to take a guy way ahead of where the second-guessing-public might think he should go, if he wants that player and thinks he won't slide past other teams to his later picks.

But those are just King's guesses.  Any thoughts on alternative possible names that Danny might have given Brad that King isn't considering?   Poeltl seems like a likely possible candidate, given Danny's comments about the need for a 'rim protector'.

BTW:  Great job on your tiers.  I dropped a rec on the fan-post page.

Poeltl is actually a guy who I could see getting little buzz and DA surprises us and trades down a few spots for him or shocks everyone and just takes him #3. God knows Bill Walton with give him great reviews.

Reading it another time and it looks like Stevens didn't mention that the 6-8 guys he was supposed to be looking at are for the 3rd pick alone. could be 3rd along with the opportunity for our own pick to be traded up.
