yes he is all that and a bag of chips. He made it look so effortless the way he played at LSU. It was almost like he was playing in second gear so as to not get injured.

Consensus #1. He is not dropping.

He was so good he couldn't get his team to the NIT. That's a red flag in my eyes.

Completely agree, why risk his career for a team that doesn't even pay him.

Should have played overseas then. He coasted quite a bit no doubt about it. Potential is there but there is not sure fire All-star in this draft right now. They all have flaws they have to work on.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Yep. Ingram is awesome but Simmons isnin his own league.
He's got top 10 GOAT potential.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

They were invited to the NIT and declined the invitation.

Not sure. I agree he's the best prospect, but Ingram is awesome too, and he does not fit with Philly's roster one bit. Would have to play SF next to two non-shooting big men at all times.

Simmons was all about getting to the NBA. He did not push for LSU to get in the NCAA tournament.

The coaching on that team was terrible too.  I watched them a lot early in the season because of Simmons, but stopped after awhile because it was too aggravating.  I lost count the number of times LSU would be down 1-2 baskets late in the game and Simmons wouldn't get to touch the ball.  It was certainly in double figures tho.

And the defense -- deplorable.  A simple 2-3 zone with guards who can't stop any kind of penetration, and then collapse into the paint after they get beat -- Maybe try something else?

It's not to say some of that failure isn't on Simmons shoulders.  He didn't always give it his all.  But that was a high school coach out there going against Calipari and Billy Donovan.  Completely embarrassing.

If thats the case we have another Lebron on our hands. Don't give me that "he could get hurt" BS. A college gives you a free ride to play for them, you man up and play, and let the B-Ball Gods handle it. You get hurt, you finish your schooling and get jobs like the rest of us bums.

I don't like the "checking it in" attitude. Right now I'd take Heild over this kid just on the hard work he's done to get better every year.

Okay probably not, but I'd trade him for Griffin, or even, eh, Cousins.

Yea, I'm not a huge Simmons fan. But, that lsu team was so bad. He made a horrible choice going there. That coach is a joke. It was painful to watch those games.
