Taurean Prince
6'8' with 7' wingspan SF that can SHOOT from three and also get to the hole.
His game takes a while to appreciate, but he's the kind of guy that is a more skilled Jae Crower but has a similar attitude whilst having a fantastic IQ.
Looks pretty good at #16 unless someone that should have gone top 10 somehow drops.
Prince looks like the kind of guy who can come in and contribute right away but also improve even after 4 years in school.
I believe Prince will be a lock down NBA defender that can basically guard PG through small ball C. Versatile defensive ability is so important to Brad and Danny.
Prince is an interesting prospect, and I like him at #23 a lot. Regressed statistically his senior year after an excellent junior season. Young for his class. Crowder a good comp, though I'm not sure Prince is more skilled. Bigger though. Defense looks good but as good as Crowder? Not sure.
I think on offense, Prince is leagues ahead of Crowder. Prince has some hesitation dribbles, crossovers and straight line drives. You're right that Crowder is a better defender at the moment but I think Prince's length/size and quickness laterally could make him an awesome NBA defender. I think his ceiling is a rich man's Jae Crowder or even a Jae Crowder/Draymond Green hybrid. Tough, hardworking kid with great IQ.
He had a weird senior year, probably dropped his stock a bit, but has been a 20 ppg scorer for the majority of his career at Baylor.
I'd like to think of him as Channing Frye with better D and better half court O.
