What's funny is that the history of the #2 picks since 2000 is actually pretty bad. The only ones on the list whose selection greatly benefited the team that selected them was Kevin Durant and Lamarcus Aldridge to some degree. Other than that, it's surprisingly pretty awful (Technically we don't know yet how good Jabari will be just yet)
Stromile Swift (All athleticism, no skills. Like a poor mans Kenneth Faried)
Tyson Chandler (Panned out well but not for the Bulls)
Jay Williams (Was going to be the next great point guard, then bought a motorcycle)
 Darko Milicic

Emeka Okafor (He was decent but never capitalized on a promising rookie season/got hurt all the time)
Marvin Williams (Hard to believe he was taken over CP3... from the minute he was drafted)
Lamarcus Aldridge (Yeah he was great but never led Portland anywhere in the playoffs)
Kevin Durant (Nothing to say here)
Michael Beasley (So much talent offensively but never cared to improve himself)
Hasheem Thabeet (The only one here that was worse then Darko)
Evan Turner (Drafted by the wrong team and only just now found his niche in the league)
Derrick Williams (Basically the new-age Stromile Swift)
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (The ultimate glue guy but not a star)
Victor Oladipo (Seems he like he will be very good, just not great)
Jabari Parker (Finally looks he's going to live up to his hype)
Deangelo Russell (Definitely showed his potential but hasn't been a good teammate)
